She was recently shocked to find herself at the centre of ‘concern’ over apparent ‘weight gain’, and now singer and mum-of-one Pink has opened up on how the scrutiny has impacted upon her.

While many accused the 35-year-old of ‘covering up’ by wearing a voluminous gown to the 2015 BMI Music Awards, the singer – real name Alecia Moore – has insisted that she refuses to be bullied over her weight.

Opening up during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Try singer said: “I think people have gotten it wrong. They think their opinion matters and holds weight, and I don’t know where or why they’re giving themselves so much credit, you know? So I thought it was important for me to remind them that I don’t care.”

Pink – who is mum to three-year-old daughter Willow – recently issued an open letter to her online weight shamers, and she admits that she felt compelled to hit back against their bullying ways.

“I don’t take well to bullying. I never have. I’m not a person that will be bullied. I’m not a person that will stand by watching other people be bullied. I’m raising a girl. I am a girl. I have feelings. People think I take no s**t and I’m tough, tougher than nails, but I’m a human being,” she added.

Let’s hope that her powerful words will resonate with those who have felt compelled to make these nasty and harmful comments.
