Having welcomed a baby daughter into the life she shares with husband Lau Zamparelli in March of this year, Jennifer Maguire found herself back in the studio this week and admits the transition was far from easy.

Opening up about her return to work, the much-loved RTÉ star said: "It was weird and strange to be honest. It took a while to get back into it and for the first hour I was very conscious I was on the national broadcaster, but I eased back into it."

Revealing she may have struggled at times throughout the programme, the 33-year-old broadcaster laughed: "Although I literally forgot my own name and now understand what it is when people say ‘baby brain!'"

The star, who has happily opened up about her new role as mum, says her return to the studio signalled a little unrest at home.

Despite ensuring little Florence was well-prepared for her mum's inevitable return to work, the Dublin star joked her daughter was far from impressed with the change, saying: "She was totally p****d off with me when I got home. She knew I was gone and was cranky."

While Florence apparently struggled with her mum's absence, Jennifer, on the other hand, arrived to work well prepared for the separation, revealing: "I had to refrain from showing the lads 100 baby pictures during the show, but I looked at them during all the ad breaks!"

Aw, we're sure Florence will forgive Jennifer in no time!
