We have been weaning now for three months, and my son is getting on really well. Of course he has been great with fruit, rice and cereals, but there's always a little bit of resistence to proper dinners with veg - of course I keep trying, it's so important to get them on to other tastes and flavours.
We were testing the 7 month age group pouches, and I have to say I was really impressed with them. First we tried the peas, potato and cod (to my shame I very rarely cook fish, so it's nice to have it to give it to him) - he took to it quite well eventually - granted at first he was not too impressed, but he went with it after. The broccoli, chicken and rice was the next one we tried which he really loved. Carrot, tomato, beef and pasta was third on our list - I hadn't given him pasta yet, so I was really interested to see how he reacted - he lapped it up. I thought we were on a role so we went with the cauliflower, cheese and pasta - result, four for four, he really liked it.
Very happy to have taken part in this trial, will definitely buy again and would definitely recommend.

We're fans of the Cow & Gate brand in our house. My older daughters were both bottle fed with the C&G formula and fed the jars as babies. We were very excited to try the Friends range as I think veg is very important in any baby or childs diet. I also feel it's better to start them on different veg flavours from a young age so that they develop a taste and liking for it.

I began the weaning process with my youngest child a few weeks ago. I found the product to be a godsend, I was actually surprised at how fast she took to eating the veggies. After only three attempts my baby was hooked.

Baby wasn't too keen on the Bella broccoli but I mixed it with Claire carrot and she seemed to enjoy it a little more. When I buy the product myself I'll opt for Claire Carrott as this was the big hit with baby. I'd also buy the other flavour and mix them with each other as I found she preferred them that way. The Friends range veggie packs are a great way to introduce different veggies into your babie diet. I'd advise Mums to keep at it for a few days to allow babies to get used to the new texture/flavour of the food.

As a mother of three children I only wish these veggie packs were available when my other two children were younger. They are very convenient (saves me getting out the blender) and baby seems to think they taste great as she now gobbles them up with no fuss.

Thanks for letting me take part. We realy enjoyed it.

Absolutely thrilled to take part in this trial, haven't heard of the Cow & Gate Friends pouches until this trial, but very interested intesting them.
My daughter is pretty good on testing new foods - although she certainly gives me the run around when she doesn't like it, and even when I try again with it, she can be quite stubborn. But I do persevere.
It's very important to me that I introduce vegetables to her at an early age - I want her to enjoy food like I do, and I think that comes from my mum offeing me a varied diet - all home made of course. I would love to be a stay at home mum and have time to prepare home made food for my daugher, but I work, so it's not always possible. The Cow & Gate pouches are for me a very close second. It's great having something on hand to grab on those busy days.
I tried her with the 6 months range from Cow & Gate and she really enjoyed it. She liked the broccoli and chicken and ate that without any problems, the same for beef, potato and carrot and the cauliflower and cheese. The only one she was a little resistent to was the peas and sweetcorn one - I guess you can't win them all.
Very happy to recommend these, they're a great back up to have in the house on those busy days, and my little one clearly recommends them too :)
Will buy again, and will pass on the words to the other mums in my circle.

I am a busy mum of 4 and although I have heard of Cow and Gate I have not used their products.
I had seen their formula and jars in the supermarket but not the pouches.
My 6 year old and 4 year old were weaned on vegetables and then fruit .

They have grown to be very fussy about veg but love fruit so it has become a habit giving them the same veg or a fruit alternative every day and I would like to vary the vegetables for the babies a bit more.
The pouches were easy to heat and the smell from them was lovely, they didn't smell like traditional babyfood but more like fresh vegetables.
We were testing the 10month + pouches and I gave htem to her with her dinner in the evenings. She loved them and took to them straight away so there was no need for "The start,Vary and repeat" approach. I also found the packiaging very useful for throwing in the changing bag with out the risk of breaking glass of like fruit pots getting squashed.
I would definately buy these and continue to use them.

Thanks very much for including me on this trial, I had seen these pouches before, but hadn't yet tried them yet.
I've just recently started to wean my little one, so it's perfect timing. I had tried homemade veggies already, which went down very well, and he's really getting a taste for it now, but being back at work, means I'm so busy I don't always have time to make homemade dinners, having the back up of Cow & Gate Friends is fantastic.
Giving my little one a healthy balanced diet form teh outset is very important, I want him to have the best, but I also want him to have a wide appreciation of food (unlike his fussy mummy :))
While weaning my little one I have always gone down the 'start, vary and repeat' route - stands to reason, he'd have to get familiar with new tastes, so my motto is never give up.
We tested the 'Discover' range (6 months+) and I was qutie surprised that he took to it reasonably quickly. There was Carrot, Potato and Beef was the number 1 - as it was demolished, he still enjoyed the other ones, but took a little more getting used to.
I'm delighted that these pouches are available - great range of flavours. I will continue to buy them, and have recommended to other mums. They are so handy to have in the fridge.
