I wasn't that familiar with the Deluxe range as I thought at first it was fancy chocolate/truffles/oils etc. But when I was informed about it through this trial, the amount of stuff that was available and the price they were at and the taste that we as a family experienced was amazing.

The selection is HUGE. I mean, from meats to frozen to chocolate to jams to sauces, you could do a deluxe shop and still have change. I would definetly buy from the deluxe range. Especially the frozen party foods. So handy to have in the freezer if guests arrive unannounced.

For the trial I mixed and match - some frozen (gyoza is to die for). Then we tried the tempura prawns because we love fish as a family. The spring rolls also and I picked up most of the party food to keep in the freezer for a later stage. I would have loved to have tried the lobster but I was scared I would mess this up so we did the salmon wellington. All the instructions are on the pack so it was so easy. (Can't wait to see the turkey on 19th Dec). My family loved the meal, my kids loved the sausage rolls and hubby loved the salmon. The salmon was probably the fave, oh and did I mention the Gyoza. We were wanting more.

To be honest, I am not a great cook so people that do things from scratch I commend. But in this day and age with family, job and things going on (I'm a busy mum of twins) the deluxe range is defintely something I will keep in mind when feeding the family. It's so convenient but tastes delicious. I would reallly recommend to my friends since I saw more of the deluxe range in store. It's conveniently priced and tastes fab. I also bought quite a few things that weren't on the trial too.  The vanilla Truffles I have hidden away as my little treat!!

Thanks for inviting me to the trial, it was a lovely experience.

Louise.

I was aware of Lidl's Deluxe range before this trial. I have tried some products before, but I haven't tried all of their Christmas range which is extensive and perfect for the festive season. The deluxe range certainly adds a little luxury to meal time and at a great price. I found the selection of products great and easy to follow cooking instructions on each pack.

For my starter I chose Goat's Cheese & Honey Puffs which I served with a salad. I really liked the light puff pastry and the sweet honey taste with the goat's cheese.

I was hoping to try the Deluxe 5 Bird Roast for my mains but when I asked in Lidl, I was told that this product wasn't in store yet, so I decided to try the Salmon en Croute with Spinach Cream. I served it with Deluxe Roast Potatoes in Goose Fat, Potato Gratins and Roast Parsnips in Orange Blossom Honey Glaze. The Salmon en Croute was delicious and is an impressive main to serve up. It would be difficult and time consuming to make from scratch, so this would definitely save time. I also think the Deluxe Goose Fat Potatoes and Roast Parsnips would save time for the Christmas dinner with only a cooking time of about 30 minutes. They tasted great and I was also impressed with the Potato Gratins.

For my dessert I served the Deluxe Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Melt in the middle puddings and some Dessert in Glasses. I enjoyed the Cheesecake. The Melt in the middle puddings were very tasty but I would have preferred them to be more gooey-centred but maybe I cooked them for too long in the microwave. I will try less cooking time when I serve them again but great that they can be ready in a minute in the microwave. I really enjoyed the Dark Chocolate pot but found the alcohol flavouring slightly overpowering in the Milk Chocolate pot.

For the Party food I tried the Partytime Sausage rolls, Chicken Skewers Satay, Cocktail sausage wrapped in Bacon, Chicken Gyozas and the Deluxe Tempura Prawns with Chili dip. As all of these products are cooked from frozen, they are perfect to have in the freezer for all those surprise Christmas visitors and I would purchase them for any family occasion. I found all of these products tasty and my favourite was between the Chicken Satay & the Tempura King Prawns. I loved the crispy batter on the prawns. The peanut sauce was excellent. Both could be served as an appetizer for a family dinner too. My family loved all the party food and this selection means less time in the kitchen and more time to party!

I couldn't find fault with any of the products I tried and liked everything. The full range is not in my store yet, so I am looking forward to trying those products too. I will be recommending these products to friends as I thought there were great value and tasted delicious!

I recently took part in the Lidl Deluxe trial. The products that I tested included the party selection the mini sausages wrapped in bacon, mini pizzas, the potato skins and the chicken skewers were great for the quick and ease of cooking. I was able to just pop them in before the people came for the meal so was great ease especially with kids running about. It was excellent value as you got a lot for the price. I also tested the goats cheese parcel, potato Gratins, the frozen mixed veg, roast potatoes, the veg parcels, the main meat I used was the 5 bird one which was absolutely lovely. The desserts used were the mini melt in chocolate dessert, cheesecake and the mini desserts in the glass jars. We also tested the pudding and truffles. Overall, I found the experience to be very positive with a few minor issues but other than that very good.

I cooked for four people with a starter, main and a dessert and also used some party food as nibbles. I found the 5 bird roast to be absolutely lovely, wasn't dry, was nice and fresh and the mix really went down well. Along with this I used the roast potatoes and the frozen veg and veg parcels. I was a little disappointed at the parcels as they all had cheese mixed with the veg in our store and I found it didn't go well together. Overall the main went well.

The starter I used was the goats cheese tarts/parcels these were a little too small I would have liked them to have been bigger, I also offered the prawns for people who could have them. As for dessert I used the cheesecake, mini dessert glass and the mini chocolate melts these were all amazing no faults.

I have seen the Deluxe range in store before and actually have never tried it, so this experience was great. Overall, I think the variety of products were great although I found there to be many fish products when it came to the mains like the prawns, salmon and lobster and as I have a fish allergy I found this hard as there wasn't much other selection available to me in my local store so I would suggest more of a variety in meat and also maybe a vegetarian or vegan main option.

The overall cooking was a good experience although due to the varying cooking times of each product it was hard to keep an eye on each product separately to avoid burning the food. However, it was quick and simple other than that and I would recommend this to any busy mum out there who doesn't maybe have a lot of time for cooking. The one area I would say could have been better was the veg section I would have enjoyed maybe an option of veg that you could steam or boil rather than just the veg parcels or the Gratins as when it comes to kids it would be ideal to get them to try eat more veg maybe like a turnip or parsnip mash or just boil in bag or steam veg.

Out of the products that I used I would buy them again and would recommend them to everyone. I absolutely loved the party food selection it was great to have such a variety which I have never really seen before in other supermarkets. I even found the packaging good, it really showed the quality of the food that I was cooking and it really stood out to me, it screamed out fancy. I think with the range that they should try a meal deal for people like a starter, main and dessert as part of a deal for a set price as this would really bring people in to buy especially families on a budget. I would highly recommend this range to friends and family. I really enjoyed the meal cooked from the Deluxe range and would definitely use it again.

Mondays and Thursdays are usually Lidl days for me depending on what special buys are coming in. Last Thursday saw the arrival of some cute children's Winter wear so I went in to stock up on some polo necks and furry hats for my little boy and girl. I decided I would use this opportunity to purchase a number of food items from the Lidl Deluxe range as requested by Mummy Pages.

I had heard of this range before and I have purchased many boxes of ice cream fancies (amazing) and frozen broccoli potato gratin portions. Because of this I had been under the impression that the Deluxe range consisted only of frozen food but as I walked around the store looking for particular products I could see that the Deluxe range includes many different items from cheese to crisps and even liqueur. I also saw a box with some kind of lovely beauty products inside but I didn't have time to stop and look. Stopping and looking would have meant buying and as it was, I had already picked up a fleece duvet cover for my five year old.

I found the products I needed quite easily, to my surprise and I left the shop with three overflowing bags. I had expected my total to be about €175 with all of the unnecessary things I had flung into my basket but my total was only €86 and I had bought lots of other random items that I needed like cat food and shampoo. When I looked at the receipt I could see that the Deluxe products were really inexpensive. For example, the 14 pack of spring rolls was only €2.49.

I asked my mother to cook/prepare the food to give the range its best chance of tasting nice. I was likely to burn whatever I cooked. She said it was just a matter of putting the food on a tray in the oven. She was delighted to have avoided any washing/chopping/mixing etc. I am a vegetarian so I tried to buy food that I could eat and non vegetarian food that my parents/husband would eat. They had duck spring rolls for starters along with pork cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon. All were eaten and enjoyed. I had the vegetable gyōzas. I had no idea what these were and I was apprehensive at first but they were really tasty and made up for the fact that I couldn't eat the spring rolls. I also bought the chicken gyōzas for the meat eaters but they didn't enjoy them as much as the spring rolls and cocktail sausages.

For the main course I had vegetable parcels with cheese, spinach and garlic. I couldn't handle the amount of garlic so I didn't finish my first parcel but I also had broccoli potato gratin which I adore. I ate three portions. The others had roast potatoes in goose fat which were all eaten, along with salmon Wellington which they said was delicious. I should point out that the food all looked and smelled amazing.

My favourite part of the whole meal was dessert where we had salted caramel cheesecake (to die for) and an individual chocolate ganache in a small glass each. The moose was rich and heavy but the portions were so small that they weren't overbearing. You probably wouldn't be able to eat two but that's not a bad thing!

Overall, I am really impressed with the Deluxe range and I want to try more of the products over the next few weeks. If I am entertaining over Christmas I think that the spring rolls in particular will come in very useful.

We had a dinner for 2 from the Deluxe range to celebrate our anniversary at home as no babysitter available and the selection of luxury products available in the Deluxe range meant we could have a fancy meal in the comfort of our own home. I found the cooking instructions, timings and instructions very easy to follow and accurate. I was actually quite surprised at the variety of foods available and we chose food which we do not often have at home.

For our starter we had the Deluxe Tempura Prawns with Chilli Dip which were really easy and quick to prepare and we both thought they were delicious with the accompanying dip. For our main course we had the frozen lobster which was lovely and again easy to prepare. We also had the goose fat potatoes, broccoli potato gratin which we really enjoyed especially the broccoli potato gratin as they were so different, delicious and something I had never tasted before. The lobster was also a treat as it is not something we have often. Dessert was the only part of the meal which I did not overly enjoy, we had milk chocolate dessert in glasses. I had not noticed on the ingredients that these desserts contained alcohol which I found very over powering. I think this should be made clear on the label not just listed in the ingredients as it is the overwhelming flavour.

We also had a selection of the party food with friends while we watched the Ireland match at the weekend. We had the cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon, the chicken satay skewers and the vegetable Gyozas which everyone enjoyed and I found cooking all the party food was easy and perfect finger food for us all to nibble on.

Overall, we had a lovely meal and I can see us enjoying many more meals from the Deluxe range as we were impressed by the taste, value and variety. I would definitely recommend the Deluxe range of products to friends and family.

I was delighted to be selected to take part in the Lidl Deluxe range trial. I have selected some products from their range before but not specifically looking at the 'Deluxe' range. However, I do shop often in Lidl.

The Deluxe range had such a broad selection I was quite shocked when I actually started looking at everything in store. My own Lidl didn't stock everything that was on the recommended list however there was still a lot to choose from. There really is something for every taste. I would definitely buy the range again, I would buy it for a special occasion or just a weekend treat for the family. I will also be making sure we purchase some of the products for our Christmas dinner. A lot of the products were packaged so they could be cooked straight from frozen and some even came in foil trays to be cooked in, which was a great time saver. I am a mother of a toddler and both my toddler and husband loved the whole meal.

We had a selection of party food to start, a full main course and dessert. This range is serious value for money, its quality food, great tasting and looks great too. I've listed the products we purchased and tasted below;
Partytime Potato Skins assorted - I thought these were a little bland but would probably still buy them again.
Partytime Spring Rolls (Duck) - nice average frozen spring roll.
Partytime Gyozas (chicken) - I wasn't too keen on these however that's because of the herbs they use, my husband thought these were one of the nicest food we tasted.
Partytime Sausage Rolls - lovely and fluffy.
Partytime 10 Chicken Skewers - perfect for the whole family.
Deluxe Tempura Prawns with Chilli Dip - we aren't too fond of prawns, however, these were lovely and will purchase again.
Goat Cheese Parcels - these were our number one favourite food that we tried. You could make a nice starter with one of these placed on top of some salad.
Roast Potatoes in Goose Fat - these were lovely and so handy.
Broccoli Potato Gratin - lovely, doesn't taste like it was frozen.
Deluxe 5 Bird Roast - I went back to Lidl the day after having this and purchased one for Christmas dinner!
Dessert in Glasses - lovely, only tried the chocolate ones but really cheap.
Deluxe Cheesecakes - these were just divine. We wouldn't be massive dessert people or Christmas pudding people so these are going on our Christmas dessert menu!

In summary, this is a fantastic range and we had a fantastic meal for very cheap, I will definitely be purchasing again and would definitely recommend anyone to try all the food

I was delighted when our family was picked to take part in the Lidl Deluxe Range trial. Some of the range already features in our weekly shop, their coleslaw, cooked sliced meats and chorizo are firm favourites. It was nice to have the opportunity to be a bit more adventurous and with Christmas only around the corner my local store has a big selection to choose from at the moment.

The beauty of the Deluxe Range is the ease with which you can cook a whole meal or pop on some party food with little to no fuss without compromising on taste or quality. As the only cook in the house and currently 7 months pregnant this really appealed to me. All the hard prep work was done. Also, perfect if you lack the time or skills when it comes to cooking as everything comes with easy to follow instructions.

Our meal consisted of two courses as I felt a third would have been too much food. Instead we kept the party food/starters as a treat for family movie night. We had sausage rolls, duck spring rolls and chicken satay skewers. All were lovely but the sausage rolls were an all round favourite. For our main I picked the 5 bird roast (pork, garlic and herb stuffing), roast potatoes in goose fat and deluxe frozen veg mix which wasn't on the list but went perfect with our meal. The roast comes with a glaze which I chose not to use as my 7 year old is quite fussy. It was just as delicious without. This served 3 adults and 1 child with roast leftover and is great value for money. We finished off with a Salted Caramel Cheesecake which was a tad bit too sweet but still lovely. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

I would highly recommend this range as there is something for everyone. I will definitely continue to try out more from the range. Can't wait for the Salmon Wellington to arrive in my local store as this is a favourite from last year.

Thank you for letting me participate. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Thank you for allowing me to take part in this trial.

I had heard of the Deluxe brand before but I was unaware of how much of a range was available. I was under the impression the Deluxe range was just desserts! I was very impressed with the large range available. I tend to shop in Lidl for the same things each week, I go in there for specific items. My eyes have now been opened and I will definitely be buying more Deluxe items with my shopping.

I bought:
The 5 bird roast, which is not something I would usually opt for but I was pleasantly surprised with this and would get it again.
The vegetable gyozas, again not something I would usually go for, they were lovely.
The sausages wrapped in bacon, very nice.
The Broccoli Potato gratin, this will become a favourite of mine, it's lovely.
The roast potatoes and the mixed veg, really liked both of these, especially the potatoes.
The Christmas pudding, which was just yummy, I'm a big Christmas pudding fan.
The melt in the middle chocolate puddings went down great with my daughter especially, a new favourite there I think.
I also got the tiramisu, which I have tried before and is a firm favourite of mine.
We also got the vintage white cheddar cheese, it's very nice and something I will get again.
We also got the filled mushrooms, which weren't bad but were my least favourite of our choices.

I was delighted with this selection, so handy to put together, good value for money and delicious. I have my eye on more Deluxe items to try now that I spotted while getting the above. I will definitely be recommending this range, I know my friends and family would love it. The quality was excellent.
The roast potatoes and gratins were favourites of mine and of course, the desserts.

Thanks for selecting me to trial the Lidl Deluxe Range. Prior to this I had heard of the Lidl Deluxe Range but had never tried it. I couldn't believe when shopping how great a selection was available.

I chose the following products for the trial - Partytime Duck Spring Rolls, Partytime Pork Siu Spring Rolls, Partytime Sausage Rolls, Partytime Yakatori Chicken Skewers, Goats Cheese Parcels, Roast Potatoes in Goose Fat, Broccoli Potato Gratin, Deluxe 5 Bird Roast Assorted (Pork, Roast Garlic & Herb Stuffing with a Cumberland Glaze), Deluxe 18 Month Matured Christmas Pudding, Melt in the Middle Chocolate Pudding, Melt in the Middle Salted Caramel Pudding, Dessert in Glasses Chocolate & Desserts in Glasses Raspberry. I chose these combinations of products to suit everybody's tastes.

The meal I prepared was delicious & my favourite element of the meal was the 5 bird roast where the flavours were melt in the mouth. The broccoli gratins were so fluffy and the roast potatoes were the perfect accompaniment to the roast. The assortment of starters suited everyone's tastes. The only starter I didn't completely like was the Yakatori Chicken Skewers. Whilst the chicken skewers were coated in a tasty oriental sauce the separate yakatori sauce sachet was bland & tasteless. The combination of desserts was a success. However, the Christmas Pudding was met with mixed reviews. One person loved it whilst two of us found the pudding contained too many nuts & the alcohol taste was overpowering but in fairness it does say on the packaging the pudding is 'generously laced' with alcohol.

I would definitely buy from the Lidl Deluxe Range as it saves time, has a great product selection & is good value for money. I would certainly recommend the Deluxe Range to family & friends.

First and foremost thank you for selecting me to be part of this trial. Being a regular shopper at my local Lidl (once a week at least) I have become familiar with the Deluxe range and have purchased items from the range in the past especially around the festive season.

The selection is great, a bit of something to suit every palette. However, I'm unsure if my local store has the entire range in stock as not all the items on the list were available to choose from. With that being said perhaps they'll be introduced in the coming weeks so something to look forward to.

The items I chose were as follows:
Partytime potato skins (Cheese and ham), Partytime sausage rolls, Partytime cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon, Deluxe five bird roast with pork, roast garlic and herb stuffing, Deluxe roast potatoes in goose fat, Deluxe potato gratin, Deluxe New York style cheesecake and Deluxe chocolate truffles (vanilla and nougat).

Plus a few sneaky extras that weren't on the list but I couldn't resist such as the Deluxe drinking chocolate sticks, Deluxe extra crunchy crisps (sweet chili) and Deluxe hand cooked Christmas crisps (pigs in blankets)
We thoroughly enjoyed our luxury haul. There was praise all round for the sausage rolls (kiddies loved 'em), The cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon are a well known festive favourite and these were no exception. Himself is a massive crisp fan and we both enjoyed the Deluxe extra crispy sweet chili crisps however the Deluxe pigs in blankets crisps didn't quite live up to the same standard. The truffles, oh those truffles were devoured in record time! They were positively moreish.

The Deluxe five bird roast cooked to perfection, it was moist, succulent, simply delicious. The perfect choice for a family dinner or special occasion. We served ours with seasonal vegetables (prepared by ourselves), Deluxe roast potatoes in goose fat and Deluxe broccoli potato gratin. The roast potatoes were fantastic, crispy on the outside and fluffy within - the perfect roasties minus the hassle of having to prepare them yourself. As for the gratin, they were divine an absolutely beautiful accompaniment to the five bird roast.

Dessert was phenomenal. How do I even describe the Deluxe New York style cheesecake? We all adored it. It was smooth, heavenly, like velvet on your tongue. Hands down the highlight of all the products chosen.
In our house my partner usually lovingly prepares our family meals and this was no exception (I'd burn toast) but there was a definite reduction on time spent in the kitchen preparing/cooking so more precious family time. When asked about cooking the products he stated it was so simple, Lidl may even make a chef out of me! Cheeky. :)

Bottom line I had purchased from the Deluxe range in the past and have always been pleased with the quality and it is fantastic value for money which is always a help. This trial has allowed me to explore the range further and I will without a shadow of a doubt be testing more of these wonderful products as well as repurchasing the above items. I would 100% recommend Lidl's Deluxe range to all my nearest and dearest. Sensational luxury food without the budget busting price tag, what's not to love. :)

I was thrilled to be chosen to take part in the Lidl Mum’s Say Trial. We’re a really busy family with 3 kids at different stages of school and I’m a work at home Mum trying to juggle work and the kids and cook good healthy meals.

For the most part, we’re lucky as we probably get to sit and eat together at least 5 days of the week with Sunday being our favourite one.

When we were asked to be part of the group it was brilliant. I went to Lidl and was overwhelmed by the options in the Deluxe range. I knew about the range but always thought it was more unusual foods.

We ended up getting more than enough for a 3 course dinner. We chose a number of different things: Tempura Prawns, Pigs in a Blanket, the Vegetable Parcels, Frozen mixed veg, Roast Potatoes in Goose Fat, Chicken Skewers, Partytime Potato Skins, Spring Rolls, Desserts in Glasses and the 5 Bird Roast.

Needless to say it covered a few meals. For our Sunday dinner we had the Tempura Prawns to start and surprisingly the kids loved those.

For main we had the 5 Bird Roast, the Goose Fat Potatoes and the veg. Followed the instructions to the letter for the roast and it was really lovely. I’d never buy frozen meat and previous experiences with a TurDuckIn (Turkey Duck and Chicken Roast) had turned me off this type of meat. Surprisingly the meat was moist and stuffing was really tasty. It was gobbled up by the kids (and later the dog when he stole it off the kitchen work top Tongue– that ruined my plans for Chicken pie the next night).

The Goose Fat Potatoes, again I was very wary of these and thought they’d be really mushy but they were perfectly crispy and tasty. The frozen veg was grand. Really great mix but again I much prefer roasted veg and had I planned a bit better I probably should have roasted them as they could have been yummier.

For dessert we had the desserts in pots. These were adored by everyone. The raspberry cheesecake in a pot was particularly a favourite.SmilingThe rest of the items we got we’ve had throughout the week. It’s been a busy week of playdates in the house and they’re brilliant as a “bung it in the oven” while the kids play and then the perfect snack for them to nibble on.

The vegetable parcels were the only thing that we weren’t really blown away by. There was a huge amount of pastry and not a massive amount of filling.

The prep of the food was great. Instead of spending a few hours prepping everything it was all done for you already and just needed to be popped in the oven. While I still love my roasts and the prep that goes into them and generally preparing fresh food, I would definitely consider doing it again for the ease and convenience and the fact that it all actually tasted good. I will definitely recommend and buy again. Particularly the party snack bits as they’re just so easy for not just parties but playdates and quick snacks and great value for money.

I was so happy to take part in this Mums Say, I am familiar with the Lidl Deluxe range, I often buy from the Deluxe range during the year, but I definitely stock up at Christmas as it's great value for money, so it's very handy to have them in the cupboard / fridge.

My sister and her husband were visiting us for the weekend so and we had dinner on the Saturday from the Lidl Deluxe range. We had Deluxe smoked salmon to start, and confit of Duck Legs for main, with veg and mash as side. Everyone agreed it was gorgeous. For dessert we had the Deluxe chocolate cheesecake which was lovely.

Buying these from the Deluxe range meant everything was pretty much done in advance, so all I was doing was serving it up. A great way to host a dinner, big or small, there’s no big fuss preparing the meal, and it makes serving up a relaxed affair.

This was an incredibly easy meal to make and serve, tasted great and it was excellent value for money. I would recommend especially for entertaining, and I will buy again. Thank you for letting me test the range.

I was very happy to be involved in this taste test, I really like the Lidl Deluxe range of desserts, but haven't tried many of the other bits.

For this test, I did a Saturday family dinner which consisted of soup for starters, pasta main and a selection of three (yes THREE) desserts.

We started off with a Deluxe spicy chicken soup which is TO DIE FOR - real pieces of chicken in it, and spicy but not so hot the kids didn't like it. For dinner I added the Deluxe truffle pesto to cooked chicken and chopped veg with the Deluxe rolled ribbon pasta, and the Deluxe parmagiano shavings on top - this is a really tasty dish that the whole family enjoyed.

I let the kids choose dessert (hence there were three) - we had Toffee Roulade, Biscuit Meringue Bites and Fudge - all from the Deluxe range, they were all incredible, and lots left over for Sunday treats! As a family meal, this was both simple and tasty. It wasn't expensive, and everybody really enjoyed it - especially the desserts.

I have already recommended to family and friends, and will be buying more. Especially the soup, as it really was really good.

Thanks again.

Thanks very much for letting me test the Lidl Deluxe range - I LOVED it. I always shop in Lidl but rarely try the Deluxe range so it was great to give it a go. I was having the girls to my house for a long overdue get together so I chose this as my taste test.

I bought the Deluxe Prosciutto for my starter of prosciutto crostini, which were divine and so easy to prep and serve so it meant I could still talk to the girls as I pulled it together.

For the main course we had chicken with Deluxe stuffing which was superb.

Dessert was a selection of the Deluxe Ice Cream Fancies and the Deluxe truffle pralines.

All in all, I was really impressed with the Deluxe range, it made prepping and serving dinner for a group very easy, and everything we had was delicious. I always struggle with desserts, I never know what to make, and I’m never very good at making them. Having such a wide selection of different readymade options was really great, there was a good selection of fresh and frozen, I will be stocking up on these for Christmas. The range is also very good value for money, especially when compared with similar ranges in other supermarkets. I will buy again, and definitely while entertaining over Christmas. Would recommend.

I was lucky enough to be selected for the Lidl Deluxe Trial - this coincided perfectly with family who were home to visit and won't be around for Christmas so we had our very own mini Christmas there yesterday for 4 adults and 2 kids. I've been aware of the Lidl Deluxe range and have picked up bits in the past always a bit of a treat.
So when shopping for a mini Christmas I was genuinely amazed at the range available in the Deluxe brand.

I bought the following party food - sausages wrapped in bacon, the duck spring rolls, Tempura Prawns with Chilli Dip and the chicken skewers. I thought there was a good mix of options available from basic sausages to more unusual spring rolls - there was something for all tastes in what I chose. The sausages wrapped in bacon went down a treat with young and old alike. The adults also loved the duck spring rolls so tasty. The Chicken skewers were a little dry but were fine overall, the satay being the nicest of the two flavours. But the show stopper was hands down the tempura prawns. They were huge and so so tasty. The chili dip had a lovely kick. The quality of all the party food and the quickness for cooking was brilliant.

For mains I picked up the 5 bird roast, serrano gammon and the potato and broccoli gratin. I was unsure about the idea of the mix of meats in the 5 bird roast, that's why I also picked up the gammon, but wow was I wrong. It was so moist and tasty. The kids ate it up asking for more! The adults were mighty impressed. As a lover of serrano ham I was a little disappointed with the serrano gammon it was lovely but I expected more for the price. I wouldn't notice a great difference from a regular gammon joint. The potato and broccoli gratin were really lovely accompaniment. But the emmental cheese in the potato gratin was delicious.

For dessert I got a selection: Chocolate melt in the middle pudding, salted caramel cheesecakes, moelleux chocolate puddings. The adults had the cheesecakes and moelleux puddings which were to die for. We all shared these and we couldn't decide which was nicer they were both amazing! Again super easy to prepare. The kids loved the chocolate melt in the middle pudding - it was much milder in terms of chocolate - so perfect for kids. Whereas the moelleux puddings with melted chocolate centre were very rich and decedent. For chocolate fans they're divine.

Overall in terms of preparation and cooking it was all so simple, straight forward and not at all time consuming. It was actually great having it all ready to pop in the oven/microwave when needed - especially when entertaining and wanting to spend time with family rather than preparing a meal for ages. So in terms of time saving I would say go for it! Anything to make Christmas Day easier and more family time is a win win for me. I would definitely buy most of these products again as they were so tasty and reasonably priced for such great quality. I've already a few on this weeks shopping list to get again. I would definitely recommend to family and friends - our family who had the meal with us were so impressed. It's such great value for money - the desserts are restaurant quality as were most of the party food/starter items.
