thank you so much for picking me to take part in this trial, i was trilled when i recieved my parcel, and it was very hard to decide what to make .i decided to make the Bannoffi Pie,and couldnt believe what a quick and easy dessert to make, not only that delicious, the caramel is soooooo nice, iwud be happy to just eat it straight from the tin. d other half said it was d nicest Bannoffi he had tasted.
having never made cupcakes with Condensed Milk before so wanted to try it, i thought that they wud be very sweet with the condensed milk added to both the cup cake and the icing but to my surprise they were not too sweet at all, so simple and delicous to make, and the smell of them baking filled the house,i had a few little helpers with me baking these and th cupcakes barely got a chance to cool to put the icing on them( sum were eaten without icing,as sum of my helpers could not resist temtation any longer.the cupcakes were delicious and all the kids agreed, and have put in their orders for cupcakes for their birthday parties

What a great trial to be involved in and the generous gifts that came with it. I have always use the Nestle condensed milk for a long time now (10 years), used to boil it on the hob for hours in return for this caramelised texture. As soon as the new caramel was on the shleves it was genius. No more of the pot burning dry whilst trying to boil the tin and trying to maintain the water to height level. Anyhow we started off with the beloved banofee which went down a treat.
This has always been a favourite of mine, but never used it with the Carnatiion caramel. The kids enjoyed this one as it was all so easy to prepare and the texture of the caramel glided on nicely to perfection. I really enjoyed reading that this product was made from no added colours or articifial flavours. I am planning on using the condense milk with the kids and will report back. It will be interesting as I have never prepared a dish with this without boiling it. So am looking forward to giving feedback.

Firstly, I would like to say thank you to Mummy Pages for including me in this trial. I was absolutely thrilled to receive my package. I was particularly interested in trying the caramel as I had only ever used the boiling in the tin method. Let me say I won’t be going back, the caramel was so easy to use and delicious! I decided to make the banoffi pie first as I had bananas which needed to be used up. Well it was so quick and easy. I actually made individual portions in ramekins which I find easier for serving. Also my kids aren’t big on cream so I did theirs without the cream, I think they would have just eaten the caramel and nothing else! I will definitely be making this again.
I was going to make the cupcakes but decided to make a cake instead as it was little friend’s birthday. I never heard of using condensed milk in baking before. So I was eager to give it a try. Well it worked out great, very easy to use again and the results were delicious. I used the exact same recipe, just put the mixture into a baking tin instead of cupcakes. It went down a treat and didn’t last long.
Finally, I used some leftover caramel as a topping for ice-cream which was popular with both kids and adults alike. I had a look at the carnation website and there are loads of recipes which I can’t wait to try. I really enjoyed using these products and will have them on my shopping list from now on.

Thank you so much for choosing us to take part in the trial. My son (age 5) was delighted when he opened the box. The first recipe we tried was the Smarties cupcakes. I was very curious to see how they turned out as I had never heard of condensed milk in cupcakes before. We found the recipe very easy to follow, we couldn't find any mini smarties and my son decided he wanted to use mini eggs instead. The box arrived at a perfect time as my son had a school cake fair the next day so he brought in his tray of cupcakes. All the buns sold and we got good feedback that the icing was lovely.

The next recipe we tried was the strawberry cheesecake. We decided to make this for Easter Day dessert. What a great recipe for kids. My son loved this. We put the biscuits in a plastic bag and he enjoyed banging them with a rolling pin to crush them, he giggled the whole time. We pretended we were doing a science experiment and he was totally amazed at adding the thick goo (condensed milk) into the cream cheese and making a liquid. He was totally gobsmacked at adding the lemon juice and it turning back into a thick goo again. We served it on Easter Day and got great compliments from all the adults about how lovely it was and that it wasn't to heavy for the end of a meal. We will defiently be making this again.

Next we tried the Quick Banoffee Pie. Wow the caramel is delicious I could just eat the tin by itself for a treat. We thought this was another great recipe to get kids involved in baking, quick and easy and lots of fun to make. We brought this to a family members house and they couldn't believe we had got the caramel from a tin and how delicious it tasted. Another recipe we will make again if we are ever having guests or going to visit someone and need something quick and simple yet really delicious to make.

We made the Sticky Toffee Pudding but my son wasn't as keen making this, he got bored at the start waiting for the dates to soften in the hot water and for it to cook in the oven. I found the recipe easy to follow and the cake turned out lighter than I was expecting. I thought the caramel was lovely as a sauce and will use it again as an ice cream topping. My son didn't like the taste of this cake and neither did his friend, but me and his friend's mum did.

I have been onto the carnation website and was amazed at the amount of recipes. I have made some of the cookie recipes this morning and have them frozen at the minute to bake at the weekend. I cooked a few this morning and they got the thumbs up from me and my son.

Thank you again for including us in the trial. We had great fun with the recipes and found the condensed milk and caramel really easy to use and delicious.

Firstly i want to say thanks for letting me take part in this, it was greatfun from the arrival of the large parcel (on the day my 2 year old started potty training so a great distraction/treat) to the baking (where everyone took part even my husband!) to the yummy eating.

I hadn't used carnation milk in years and this was my first time using the caramel - will definitely be using both again!! Deciding which recipes to make was easy - banoffee is my husbands favourite dessert. We decided to make it Easter morning which was good fun - my 2 year old helped make the base and decorate the top and really enjoyed himself. It was a very easy recipe and one I'll be making again, went down a treat with both my family and in laws as well later that day.

I made the cupcakes Easter night. At first I was a bit unsure as I'd never used condensed milk in this way before and the list of ingredients looked rather long but again it was all very straightforward and more importantly cupcakes were yummy and the frosting/topping was even yummier. Again family devoured these on our Easter Monday picnic (despite the freezing weather!!)

Next on my to-do list is the cheesecake (ingredients here and ready to go) as well as the key lime pie and millionaires shortbread from the website. I can imagine using the caramel in lots of ways for a quick dessert as well. I cant see the remaining tins lasting very long in our house and I'll definitely be adding these products to my shopping list.

Hi, first of all thanks so much for picking me to do the trial, i absolutely LOVE baking with my 2 year old. First off we decided to make the Smartie cupcake as cupcakes are my fav midweek treat to make, except we cheated a bit and used maltesers instead of smarties Wink I've never used condensed milk in cupcakes as I've never come across a cupcake recipe with it in them so I was excited and a bit nervous about the texture and taste.... Well I needn't have worried, once they were baked and cooled they disappeared in no time. My brother loves cupcakes and basically anything sweet so he helped himself to a few! The recipe was very easy to follow and the condensed milk gave a lovely flavour to the cupcakes. I love sweet things but I did find them a bit too sweet when I iced them as the condensed milk in both the recipe and the buttercream was a bit much for me. But all in all they were beautiful and very easy to make!
Next we decided to make the Banoffee Pie as we were going to dinner Easter Sunday and I offered to do dessert. Well it was fab!! No other word for it! I love bananas and caramel but not a big lover of cream so wasn't sure if I'd like it too much. The recipe couldn't have been easier, sure it has to be the easiest dessert to ever make! No cooking even involved, what mother wouldn't love it?? Personally the next time I'd use more ingredients to make the biscuit base bigger as it was very thin in comparison to the rest of the pie. Another thing I didn't like was the amount of cream that had to be used as it meant having to use 2 cartons, but that's just personal opinion, it didn't make a difference to the overall effect. The caramel was very easy to use, I heated it up a small bit first before I poured it on as I find it spreads better when its heated but oh my god, it tastes fantastic! We had a sneaky taste out of the tin Tongue I find cream a bit bland so I melted chocolate into it and whipped it up, took from the plainess off the cream without ruining the taste. All in all it was gorgeous, there was only a few slices left after dinner and they were being brought to a party that evening to be enjoyed by more! I'll def be making this over and over again, it is the simplest dessert I've ever made and quite frankly the tastiest as well!!
We also used the second tin of condensed milk to make Millionaire's Shortbread, once again only lasted a few days they were so good! Haven't used the second tin of caramel yet as I want to find the perfect recipe to use it in, and use it for a special dinner or ocassion. But if it's left too much longer in the press it'll be opened and we'll be sitting at the table with the tin and 2 spoons just eating it out of the tin!! That's how good it is.
Will definitely be buying the caramel any time I'm baking, I probably wouldn't buy the condensed milk again as I don't seem to able to find many recipes using it but for anyone who might be afraid to buy it as they think its hard to use; its not. Yes it needs attention if your caramelising it but its not hard to use.
Thank you so much for picking me, I was delighted to use the products and I can't wait to use it again! Also thank you for the apron, its something I've been meaning to buy for ages and never got around to it! Also the muffin tray was great, I had one tray which meant my cupcakes had to be cooked seperately which wasted time and electricity. I'm so delighted, thank you so so much!

I made the quick Banoffi yesterday and it was yummy Big smile. I found the recipe really easy to follow, and loved the ease of use and taste of the instant Carnation Caramel.

I had 7 people taste it, mum, dad, hubby kids etc and all said it was lovely, really tasty and filling. There was mixed reviews though... personally i thought that the biscuit base needed more butter as it was very crumbly when i was dishing it up, but this was my mums favourite part. I thought the caramel was a bit too soft, so did my brother, but my dad and hubby thought that was the best part .

I will definately be making another one, but i think this time i will use a smaller dish for deeper layers. overall it was a success unbelievably easy to make with the instant caramel, (and very easy on the pocket) it also looked very impressive when presented, 9 portions dished out and not a crumb left on any plates...says it all really ;0).

I made the smarties cupcakes today, all gone already haha. id never used condensed milk before so was intrigued as to the result. it was really easy to use, although a bit messy, and for the basic mixture it worked really well. loved the texture, look and taste of the finished cakes. the icing and me had issues haha. i found it really hard to mix by hand so resorted to using the mixer. the consistency was excellent though and it retained its shape. it was quite sweet though, but the kids loved it. I will try again with the condensed milk but a different recipe Big smile

We've been using Carnation Condensed Milk since i was in the Philippines my big sister loves making desserts, we used it for leche flan, fruit salad, buko pandan salad, yema and pastillas. Since I moved to Ireland I mainly used it for bannoffee pie which my husband and kids love. The Carnation Caramel is very handy to make the bannoffee pie,it usually takes 2 hours to boil the tin and wait for another 30 minutes to pour it.
The Smarties Chocolate Cupcakes was a hit with my two kids even my husband who is only allowed to eat one hahaha, they're asking me again to make some and can they help me again making them.
I will continue using Carnation products as an ingredient for baking. Thanks again Carnation!

I was delighted to get to share in this trial. I had used Carnation Condensed Milk before when making cheesecake and in banoffi pies but although I had seen the Caramel in the shops I hasn't tried it.
The recipe cards were very simple and easy to follow and as I had never made cupcakes with Condensed milk before I decided this had to be tried. The instructions were straight forward but I don't know was it the size of my portions or did my two mini helpers eat a lot of the mixture, I only had enough for 10 cupcakes rather than the 12, stated in the recipe.
The cupcakes were tasty and they were all ate but I'm not sure if I would use the Condensed Milk again as I didn't feel it really added much to the taste.
I didn't make the strawberry cheesecake but did use a tin of the condensed milk in a Baileys cheesecake which I have made on numerous occasions.
I used the Caramel in the Banoffee. This was so easy and fast. On previous occasions I have made banoffee using the Condensed milk /butter /sugar . This was just as tasty and a very safe ( no hot toffee) for making with kids. I think I will keep a tin of the toffee in the press as it could be used to make a tasty treat in minutes if unexpected guests arrived.
I will definetely continue to use Carnation products as I found them very tasty and to add a certain something to bakes and treats. The hot choc fondants on the carnation.co.uk website is a must for me along with plenty more that I want to try.

Thanks to mummypages and to Carnation for including me in the trial

with two young children, baking is a fun way to pass the time in our household, we try to bake something at least once a week. to start off with we made the smarties chocolate cupcakes, which proved to be a big hit, two happy children covered in chocolate and half the mixture eaten before it hit the oven. i had never used carnation products before and found the icing alot easier to make with the condensed milk, but felt it would have been easier to pour from tin if it was quick open/pull ring.
next up was the sticky toffee pudding, i felt the instructions for making this could have been a bit clearer, as i had never made it before and didnt know whether all the water mix should be added but worked away, the caramel was very easy to use and not half as messy as i predicted. this also proved a hit with the children as after it had cooled there was a layer missing before the caramel could be added.
when children were in bed i tackled the strawberry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding, never realised they were so easy to make. the instructions were very simple and clear, but due to previous experience (from eating) altered the ingredients to have more biscuit base, as generally find there is not enough. the cheese cake topping was perfect consistancy.
all desserts proved to be a bit hit in our house and nannys house alike, they have their orders put in for more desserts. we will definately be using carnation products in our baking in future. some lovely recepies on the carnation website, children have picked the cookies for our next mission, lets hope some of the mixture makes it as far as the oven :) thanks for choosing us to take part in this trial :)

It was one afternoon two weeks ago that I got a surprise phone call from the courier man to say he was outside my door with a parcel. I hadn't opened my emails yet that day so I wasn't expecting a delivery. I got that lovely feeling of anticipation as he handed over the bundle of goodies and then, because my children were still in school, I also had the experience of opening and examing the delicous products myself.
We waited until the easter holidays before we started baking but when we started, boy, it was hard to stop! Everything was so delicious. We started with Millionaire Short Bread (we didn't have any dates or bananans and my children were too impatient to wait for me to go shopping!) I had never used the Nestle Caramel before so it was a new experience for me. Previously I have made my own caramel. It was so easy just to pop open the tin and voile - instant caramel. I will definitely use it again. We thought the Millionaire short Bread was yum and it was gone within a few days.

The next thing we made was a Chocolate Smartie Cake. We did consideer making the cupcakes but one of my daughters was turning five on Easter Sunday) and she had requested a chocolate birthday cake. (I know, more chocolate on top of all their easter eggs!). We made the cake on Easter Saturday and it was simple to make (even with four "helpers"). We was wonderfully gooey and fudgey and we were all delighted with it.

Currently I have a couple of blackening bananas in my fruit bowl and I bought some dates the last time I went shopping so it'll be a toss up between the Banoffee and the Sticky toffee Pudding as to what we bake next.

We were thrilled to be picked for this trial and the only negative thing we can say about the Nestle products is that somehow they have made our clothes shrink! Funny that!!

I was so thrilled to be picked for this trial. Me and my 5 year old made all the recipes. I am still a toddler when it comes to baking. But I must say it was awesome and easy.

I made the Nestle Smarties Cupcakes - Still have one more left (we three are looking who is going to eat the last one)
I then made the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It came out so awesome, got my colleagues at work wide eyed :-)
I also went and bought more Nestle Condensed milk from Dunnes. I made it to make Indian Desserts like Kheer. the taste was flawless and it cut down the cooking time by half.
I then took pictures of all the sweets and sent them over to my mom , she was thrilled and must say proud of her daughter's culinary skills
The recipes given along with this Nestle trial are going in my recipes book permanently.
I must say a Big thank you guys for having chosen me which has made me get interested in trying out different recipes. I have jotted down few more recipes from the Nestle website and going to try them out this friday.
Thank you Nestle once again

Hi Nestlé Carnation and MummyPages!

I was one of the lucky people who were picked to take part in the Nestle Carnation Mum’s Say Trial. I jumped at the chance to enter, as I'm mainly a savoury cook, and don't have much confidence when it comes to baking treats! I'm part of a book club, and when it comes to my turn, I'm always angsting about what to make for dessert! I love Banoffee Pie, and when I saw that this could be one of the options I'd be making as part of the trial, it sealed the deal!

First I got my box containing:
- Two cans of Nestle Carnation Condensed Milk
- Two cans of Nestle Carnation Toffee
- One Carnation Apron
- A muffin cake tin
- Two recipe cards (with 4 recipes for Banoffee Pie, Strawberry Cheesecake, Smarties Chocolate Cupcakes, and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

My daughter (aged 9) helped me with the Banoffee Pie, and she made the Cheesecake all by herself!

The Banoffee Pie really is quick - I don't know why I was afraid to try desserts before - it was so easy to put together digestive bikkies, better, Carnation Caramel (which tasted yummy), cream and grated chocolate on top! Plus no cooking! I loved eating the Pie, and will definitely make it again!

Nestle Carnation - in my book club, one of the women is a coeliac - do you have any gluten free recipes I could try out (with my trusty sous chef!).

Because my daughter did so much of the work, I asked her for her review (see below). Thank you again Nestle Carnation for the trial - we had great fun!

Review by my daughter :-)

I had heard of Nestle Carnation before I started cooking, and I had tried the Caramel before in a friends house to ice cakes. I found the instructions easy to understand, and it was fun! I did find the Condensed Milk hard to scrape out, and it was all over the place! I made the cheesecake by myself for my dad, and he really loved it! I used the Caramel to make Banoffee pie with my mammy. It was easy to use, and it did taste nice! I made the Banoffee pie for mammy, and she loved it! I also brought over 2 slices to my nanny, and she loved it too!

I will use both the Caramel and the Condensed Milk in my baking. They're great ingredients! I want to make a cake next (as well as the Smartie cupcakes!). I loved the recipes. It would be lovely if you could send us more ingredients! Thank you Nesle :-)

I was absolutely delighted to be chosen for this trial. i love baking and eating nice things also works well for me! so out of the four recipes given i just decided to review two, although i will be making the other two.
to start off i had heard of nestle carnation before, but i never tried any of their products till now. i have been missing out!
first of all i made the smartie cup cakes. i never used condensed milk in cupcake mixture before. i found it amazing! the mixture was easy to make, and the recipe was really easy to follow, even with a one year old to chase around the kitchen LOL i loved the condensed milk. i felt like when i took the cupcakes out of the oven they were so perfect, so smooth, so professional looking! i felt like it made a massive change to the texture compared to my regular cupcake recipe. then onto the icing, i am usually brutal at it and i didnt hold any hope at making it. i usually have it too watery, too thick etc. so i followed the recipe word for word and like magic i had chocolate icing! i spooned it onto each cupcake and decorated them with mini smarties. they looked fab. my family loved these, more so then the ones i usually make too. i left some without icing for those not too fond of chocolate. a lot of people said how light they were, and tasty! i would definitely recommend these to anyone who needs to whip up something quickly. i feel they would be brilliant for a kiddies party or to bring over on a play date. the kids loved them and i will be making these again soon.

then i moved on to the sticky toffee pudding! this is my favourite dessert of all time, and i could not wait to bake this. i followed the recipe which was really easy to do and i found that it also gave you guidance where you think you're going wrong but you're not really. the only thing about this recipe i wouldnt be too fond of is the dates. i prefer this pudding without the dates but thats no big deal. when the pudding cooked i heated up the carnation caramel and poured it over it. i served it with a scoop of icecream which was yummy! i love the hot and cold taste. this was also the first time that i used carnation carmel and i thought it was gorgeous. i didnt taste a difference between the carmel and a homemade caramel sauce.

i will be using carnation products again, especially the carnation condensed milk. i felt that made a major difference to the texture and end product. i will use the caramel again too, i cant wait to make the sticky toffee pudding again.

i really would recommend readers to go onto www.carnation.co.uk it has a range of great recipes for every occassion and their recipes are easy to follow and easy to understand. i think next on my list will be the strawberry cheese cake and the millionaire short bread.

finally thank you mummypages for choosing me for this trial! i was over the moon to be picked and enjoyed every mintue of baking, i find it so relaxing! nestle carnation products will become a regular feature in my house and i will be checking in for new recipes on their website.
thanks again mummypages!

I was delighted to be part of this trial.
I was aware of carnation products before but had never used them. I was not sure what to use them for to be honest.
We mde the banoffie pie. This is so simple and quick to make with yummy results. I'll definitely be making this again. It went down great here.
We also made the muffins, I would never have thought that condensed milk could be used for these. They were lovely, another recipe we will make again. They went down a treat with my daughter.
I found results with both products turned out lovely and I will use them again.
Strawberry Cheese Cake and The Fudge are next on the list to try here.
Thanks again for choosing me as part of the trial.
