My six month old baby boy and I were delighted to trial the Pip & Pear range and look forward to seeing it on the shelves of Aldi stores very soon. We tried Spiced Apple & Pear – Gold winner, Blas na hEireann and Banana Blue – Silver winner, Blas na hEireann.
We were delighted to see that the texture and smell of the range was just like my own homemade purees. It comes in fully recyckabble packaging which can also be reused for our own purees.
We mixed the banana blue with his morning porridge. He loved the taste and didn’t notice the difference from my homemade versions so I was guilt free! Very easy to prepare. He enjoyed the Spiced Apple & Pear for his tea, this was his favourite and would have loved more! I will definitely purchase Pip & Pear from Aldi stores soon and also look forward to trying the other products available.
It is clearly outlined on the packaging what stage/age each product is suitable for. It makes the weaning process a little easier as there are products available up to 15months. I was also delighted to be able to tick off two of his five a day with each pot with the extra comfort of knowing that there was no added salt or sugar and the fruit and veg used are all organic…. Just how mammy makes it.
As I return to work very soon and I have less time on my hands, I am at ease knowing that there is an alternative to my own homemade foods available. I have been away on holiday with baby and we have tried other store bought baby foods which have not compared to the Pip & Pear range on quality of ingredients, no added salt or sugar and closeness to my own home cooking. I will be recommending the Pip & pear range to my family & friends.

I loved the pip and pear range – I thought the idea was great. The concept of the meals being as close to home cooking is great and I definitely found this to hold true. I loved the different flavour combinations in the meals I got for my son. The packaging was attractive definitely something that would catch my eye in the shop and what really gets my thumbs up is the texture of the older age group meals I got; Tutti fruity chicken curry and baby beef ragu. These were not too lumpy for my son – he’s not the best with lumps but these meals had good texture but wasn’t too much for him to manage. I found the pots easy to heat up and also found great comfort knowing they contained the right nutrition for my 13 month old, nothing extra as in salt etc and that the portion sizes were similar to what I would serve him myself. He liked both meals, but definitely preferred the tutti frutti chicken curry :-) and I would have no qualms whatsoever offering my son these dinners as a break from my cooking and will be trying more when they hit the shops.
Thanks for including us :-)

My daughter is 6 and a half months old and we tried out the Spiced Apple and Pear and the Banana Blue. She absolutely loved both! With the Spiced Apple I mixed some with her porridge in the morning and gave her the rest for desert after her lunch. She ate the Banana Blue in one sitting the following day and there is quite a lot in each pot. The pots were runnier than the puree I make but that didn't bother her! They would definitely be suitable from 5 months.

I like the fact that they are refrigerated as its means they are really fresh. I would buy other products in the range once she hits 7 months and I would absolutely reccomend them to my friends.

I was eagerly awaiting the delivery of our pip and pear products as we had been told they needed to be refrigerated immediately. This made me think that the products that would arrive would look and smell exactly like something I had just made myself if I was a good cook .....They did not disappoint.
The products were very east to prepare, simply pop in the microwave. We tried the fish first ( Fishy dishy). This would be the first time Ellie would be trying fish and I was a bit worried. I did not need to be. She loved it. My Dh had only put on half a pack but that was gone in minutes we put on the rest and she goobled it right up. The next day we gave her the chicken lickin Casserole, she really enjoyed this and ate the whole tub ( we were prepared this time ). I really liked the fact that both dishes had flavour Ellie is eight months and a lot of hte products I have tried with her are so bland. When I make stuff myself I add all the usual ingredients except for chilli and salt she loves flavour and I felt Pear and Pip really provoded this. The amount of veg is significant providing up to two of their five a day and not adding any salt or sugar whilst still giving a very tasty dish.
I will definetly be buying these prodcuts. I think they give you guilt free alternatives to homemade food. I told my mum I had made them myself and she didnt suspect a thing !
I have been raving to all my friends about the fish dish since Ellie devoured it.

Received the chicken casserole and fish dish for my nearly 8 month old to try. he enjoyed both especially the chicken casserole, my only complaint was it was quite watery. i split the fish dish between two days as it can be kept 24 hours in fridge once opened but one pot is probably needed for most babies with a good appetite. the food smelt and tasted lovely and homemade and was a good texture to suit his age as he has only lately started to manage food that isnt completely smooth. i will definitely try more of this range and they are handy to use when not cooking something suitable for baby or when out and about but wouldnt use every day as would work out quite expensive.

Hi we received the chicken licken casserole and fishy pie, the packaging was great. My daughter is 10 months old and has been on solids since 5 months so well used to food, The consistency was perfect and taste great. She eat it all in one go. I was really happy with the fish pie as fish has not been an easy introduction for her and she had refused to eat anything with fish in it up to now. Again she eat it all, so I would highly recommend Pip & Pear foods. When is it on sale and where will I be able to buy it please?
Regards
Audrey

We recieved banana blue and spiced apple and jack loved them. He finished both pots over 2 days and slept the night through which was totally new for us as we were still doing 4am feeds up till this. Obviously the full belly did the trick. I felt a lot less guilty feeding him with pip & pear than i usually do if i have to use a jar. As soon as i opened the pots it smelled like it had just been whipped up. Love the packaging and im using the reusable pots for my own cooking. I will definitely use pip & pear going forward and cant wait to get my hands on it when it comes to aldi. The deal breaker for us was that the pots have a use by date within the coming days and they can be frozen. This made us feel more comfortable about using them as they were fresh!!! Thanks for choosing us as part of your trial and we look forward to using pip & pear going forward.

We recieved the Tutti Fruity Chicken Curry and Baby Beef Ragu from 10 months. My 14 months liked them both. I gave him the beef ragu first, I noticed it was a bit too watery for him, he ate half, the chicken curry went down better as I added cooked rice with it & froze the rest, I also loved the reausable tubs and the fact that the product could be frozen both had good smell & flavour. I would recommend them to other mums to try & not feel guilty!

It was great to receive the pip & pear products. My little girl loved the spiced apple & pear (pot was empty). She was not too keen on the banana blue as she does not like banana anyway. But she still ate a few spoons as it was nice and cool on her teething gums . I will definitely be buying more when its in aldi this week & i look forward to trying the next stage of products. I would also recommend these products to friends as the little pots are so convenient & you know your baby is getting good quality food.
Thanks for letting me take part in the trial!

I recently received my chicken licked casserole and fishy pie from Pip & Pear. My LO is 9 months old. I loved the packaging on both tubs as I found them very eye catching and well displayed. I tried first the chicken licken casserole first and found it to be very watery but my LO loved it, she ate it all up with a big smile on her face, so that to me was great. I then tried the fishie pie and this time my LO wasn't too fond on that one, she wasn't feeling the best that day anyways so I just put it down to that. All in all, I would recommend this product as I would be using it again. Many thanks for choosing us again, Niamh

Really really enjoyed testing the Pip & Pear baby food - both me and my little one took this testing very seriously altogether, I always tasted it before she had a go. And to be fair she absolutely lapped it up.
These are a brilliant idea and definitely a great substitute for home cooked dinners, when this busy mum doesn't have time. So handy to have and super easy to prepare and have ready for my hungry little monster. And it's also great to know there are a few flavours, and also that they are designed to feed baby at a specific age right up to 15 months. Brilliant of course that it contains 2 of her 5 a day, I'm very conscious of feeding my girl a balanced diet.
I will definitely buy as soon as they hit the shops, and have already recommended them to my mummy friends.
Thanks again.

I'm so delighted to see a new and healthy baby food range on the market. I try to always cook at home for my boys, but with being back at work it's just not always possible.

The Pip & Pear new baby food range looks fantastic, it's easy to prepare, it contains no added salt or suagar, and works out as 2 of your 5 a day. You couldn't ask for more.
This will definitely be part of my weekly shop, and have already told the child minder, friends and other mums at work. Great proudct.

I'm thrilled to have been picked for this trial - I'm always looking for a healthy / quick option for my son, and this new range from Pip & Pear really hits the spot.
We tried each flavour and he loved them. I would be very happy to buy these each week and feel they're an excellent substitute for home cooked meals.
Knowing that the Pip & Pear range are heatlhy (with no added salt or sugar) and include enough to count as two of his five a day is very important for me, it gives me peace of mind knowing he is getting the very best.
I will keep these on the shopping list - looking forward to trying out the full range.
