Everyone in the house agreed, they taste lovely – sweet but not overly so, and with a lovely crunch.
Once we had all had one, I decided to do some baking, it had to be a family favourite, so I chose an apple tart. It turned our really well – I mixed a few cooking apples with the Royal Gala and the results was a really yummy tart, which didn’t last long.
I’m very impressed with the Biosüdtirol apples, great to eat and great to bake with. Delighted to know they are organic, and knowing this will definitely influence my purchase.
I would definitely buy Biosüdtirol apples again, and have already recommended them.
We made stewed apple over the weekend which was gorgeous and my little one had some too and she loved it. I have always loved stewed apple as my granny used to make it every Sunday, it was lovely to keep the tradition going.
I think it’s important where possible to choose organic products, so I was thrilled to see Biosüdtirol apples are 100% organic – and having read their story on the website, I’m even more impressed, such a wonderful idea, and definitely made me long for Italian holidays.
I would recommend these apples – they really are lovely. And they look so pretty too :)
I gave an apple to my husband and each of my children to try and my 7 year old son decided that he would be the one to give the review. He noticed that the apple was nice and crunchy, and the skin texture was just right. He liked how juicy the apple was and suggested that they would be good apples for making home made apple juice. He said that the flavour was very nice and didn’t taste like the old organic apples that we used to buy.
Personally, when I tried the apples, I really liked the flavour, I hate apples that are too acidic, but these were just right and left a lovely after taste in my mouth. My two year old was very happy to eat them. The apples disappeared from the fruit bowl very fast which is a very good sign.
I have a recipe for a sweet and sour chicken dish which is baked in the oven which I cook every few weeks, I add uncooked apple slices to the dish before it goes in the oven and they help give it a a sweet flavour. Normally when the dish is cooked, I end up fishing out the apple slices before serving it to the kids, but I told them that I put the new apples in the dish and convinced them to taste the dish with the apples in it. The kids loved how the apples cooked well in the dish and the flavour was not too overpowering.
I recommended these apples to my dad and we will definitely keep an eye out for these apples when we go shopping in the future.
Thank you for letting us be a part of this trial.
I never heard of Biosüdtrial before but have heard of Royal Gala and was surprised by the varieties of apples that Biosuedtriol has.
I usually reach for Pink Lady when shopping, but taking part in this trial has changed my mind.
They taste delicious, sweet, a slight acidic taste but not over powering. Sweet, fresh smell. A lovely shiny healthy looking skin with no blemishes. I love the way the skin is thin and easy to eat and the way it crunches when you bite into it.
The whole family really enjoyed sampling Royal Gala and they were reaching for them instead of Pink Lady from our fruit bowl.
I made the Apple Pancakes that was on the leaflet enclosed in the trial. My new favourite pancakes now.
I didnt know they were organic apples too which is great to know because I do try to buy organic fruit where possible, as being organic they dont have all those nasty sprays and chemicals, not only bad for us but enviroment too.
I will be buying Royal Gala in future and will recommend them to my friends and family.
Thank you once again for choosing me to take part in this trial.
I thought they were crisp, sweet and very juicy and really enjoyed them. I had never heard of Biosudtirol before so I wasn't aware the apples were organic. They looked fresh crisp and clean, very appealing overall.
Being organic would encourage me to buy them in future and while I would buy them for myself, because they weren't the kids favourite they probably wouldn't be my first choice. We tried the pancake recipe with them also and they preferred the pancakes without the apples but that's their personal preference.
I would recommend the apples as I enjoyed them and being organic is an added bonus for me.
We had never heard or seen this brand of Apple before in Ireland or abroad. We were given the red gala apple to test. These were red, plump and a good sized apple. They were visually very appetising.
They smelt sweet-and fresh, almost like freshly cut grass and they had a lovely crunch when you bit into them. They have a lovely fresh sweet taste. There is no bitterness at all. The apples had no bruises or spots or any disease visible. I made apple muffins for the kids lunch boxes with about 5-6 apples and they worked really well in the recipe. They went down well with adults and children alike. The apples were also delicious on their own and knowing they are organic made them even sweeter. I often buy gala apples for their sweetness however there apples were larger in size that I would be used to buying.
We hadn't heard of these ones before we saw them on Mummypages. Was delighted to take part in the taste test. And happier still when I found out they are 100% organic.
The apples are lovely - fresh and juicy with the perfect combination of crispy cruch and sweet.
We made apple muffins which were devoured.
I would buy again and would happily recommend.
The taste of the apple was both sweet & slightly acidic. The flavours were very light & sweet with a very smooth spring taste bursting with a light scent of apple. They smelt full of freshness & goodness & looked colourful & enticing to eat. Our family found them temptingly delicious.
Being 100% organic would certainly influence me to purchase. The recipe I made was Apple Pancakes. I would never have considered using apples in a pancake but it turned out well & was so delightful to eat.
I would buy this brand of Royal Gala in the future & recommend to family & friends as they are full of flavour & refreshing with a soft crunchy texture.
We’re a house on the go normally, so it tends to be just apples in hands, but I did go to the trouble of making a salad this time and it was really gorgeous. Don’t know why I don’t always do it.
The Royal Gala apples were the perfect fit with a nice crunchy bite.
I would buy again and would recommend.
