So with the arrival of sumer at last we have been using this all week and have to say has been working really....have to get it on before school and sinks in really well and leaves skin well moisturised and smelling fab.We have 2 red heads here with very pale skin and no sign of any redness also my daughter has ezema and this does not appear to be aggrevating her skin which is great as sometimes having to pack different lotions for everyone can be a hassle.Having the UVA and UVB protection is great especially with the high incidence of skin cancers not tomention the anti aging properties!Overall we are very happy and would def buy again.

Firstly thank you for picking me, I’m delighted to be taking part in this trail! I would shop in Boots quite regularly, so I was familiar with the Soltan range but had never used it before. I was very satisfied with these sun creams!
I loved how the sun creams were lovely and light and that they didn’t stick to your clothes. I’ve encountered problems before with other sun creams, where they take ages to dry, not ideal when you have 3 impatient children dying to go out and play in the sun! I was delighted with the range of factors in the family pack as I would generally use factor 30 during the summer, my husband feels he needs none but I eventually got him to use the SPF15 and I always make sure the kids are covered in the highest factor possible, so I used the factor 50+ on them. No matter what the factor, it’s always good to know that there is UV protection in your sun cream, it’s very important to me when I’m choosing a sun cream for my family .The creams absorbed very easily and have a lovely smell off them (even my husband mentioned it!!).
We are going to Spain when the kids finish school and I will absolutely be bringing these sun creams with us. The bottles are easy open and my eldest can use the sun cream by himself with ease. I haven’t got the chance to use the after sun yet, which is probably a good thing. But I’m sure we will have to use it at some stage in Spain. I’ll know more about the sun creams after I come back from hols, but from my experience so far I would definitely recommend this range of sun creams to anyone, especially the family pack as it’s great for families like my own where a number of SPFs are needed. Great products!!

I LOVE THESE SUNCREAMS...........
-Thanks for including us in this trial & apologies for the later reply.Unfortunately, here in the west, we had to wait for the sun to appear to fully evaluate the creams-although even on cloudy days this time of year I would use suncream on the kiddies but it's harder to evaluate accurately.....
-Firstly the variety pack is a great idea and cost effective as I worked out it is cheaper than buying them individually.Obviously the kids ( 7 & 10) use spf 50 but the spf30 was perfect for me & hubbie is dark skinned & never burns so the spf 15 is fab for him.
- We certainly tested the creams thoroughly this past couple of weeks as the weather obliged & the kiddies had school tours, several soccer blitzes & a sports day each..... WELL I am impressed-the temperatures have been high and NOT ONE of us had even a sign of red skin let alone sunburn.I am extremely neurotic about sun protection on the children ( probably OTT ) & hence I was a very suitable tester-lol.As a result I can honestly say I am totally convinced & re-assured that these creams live up to their SPF claims.I would cream the kids before school and have found they were 'pink skin free' on their return home.Obviously I was unable to reapply it every 2 hours on schooldays but it obviously did its job and I do know they were playing out at school quite a bit with the fine weather.
- The creams are light,non-greasy and sink in well without leaving a sticky residue which meets my childrens approval as they hate to feel sticky as happens with some creams.I also noticed that if you leave it to dry before dressing,as is advised, then the yellowy stain which usually destroys white clothes is minimal compared to other brands I have used.I have,in the past, had to throw white school polo shirts away as they were stained badly by suncreams but I have just taken a pile of them out of the machine & they are stain free-- bonus....
- The creams spread easily which can be a problem for some thicker creams and even makes it handier for the kids to apply themselves. My 10 yr old son went on his school tour to an outdoor adventure pursuits centre & was outside there all day on one of the hottest days so far this year.I sent the spf50 with him to reapply during the day and he found he could spread/apply it himself with ease and thankfully his skin remained unburnt after a particularily challenging day for any suncream.I have in the past sent a long acting cream with him but it was very thick and harder to apply and get out of the bottle(as he said himself) so he was reluctant/couldn't bother to use it unlike this version.
- I was impressed at how quickly it sank into the skin also.Last year I bought a very expensive (twice the price of the 'Boots soltan') and found it didn't sink into their skin (or mine) but sat on the surface and when you tried to rub it in it just formed white flakes-such an expensive waste....... Of course the fact that these creams have 5* uva protection as well is brilliant as my skin certainly needs all the anti-ageing sun protection it can get !!!!!!!
I did find the creams moisturising too particularily on my skin which dehydrates quickly in the sun but it wasn't greasy which is a definate no-no for me.I also love the aftersun as a nightly moisturiser and I have used it before-it smells fab & even applying it evokes 'lovely summery memories'--genuinely.My 7yr old girl is hooked on it too.She is loving the fact that she 'has to' try it for the trial & puts lashings of it on carefully every night--bless-it's cute....
Finally this family pack of creams suited all our skin types suprisingly. My daughter & I have 'normal' skin but my husband suffers from adult acne & I think the light,non-greasy formula wouldn't clog his pores-so far so good. My son however has very very sensitive skin & suffered from severe excema.I was a little wary of trying it on his skin but it was perfect. He had no reaction and the moisturiser in it seemed to actually soothe any irritation.Wow I will definately continue buying & using this brand as usually I have to get specialised skincare brands which cost a fortune---this is a massive bonus to us...
Thank you

Oops that was a long review.I get carried away with trying to cover every aspect of the trial-lol sorry.

One last thing-we were asked if anything could improve or change in regards to this family pack.Whilst it is a genius idea as it is I would suggest that maybe a high spf lipbalm be included as these are brilliant little sticks as the sun dries out my lips terribly.
Another option could be to include an insect repellant maybe??? Even if families are not travelling abroad I find we get eaten alive here in Ireland by Midges so it could be handy for all families.I appreciate the price would need to be increased accordingly but it is actually a very reasonable pack regardless......

Thank you very much for allowing me to take part in this trial. I have seen the soltan range but never used it and I can safely say that after using it as a part of this trial that I will never use anything but soltan again. I was very impressed with the different levels of factor all in one pack it really makes it so handy for families. The cream is such a light texture and easily absorbed that it makes it very easy to apply to young children. My 11 year old son was able to put on his own suncream as it goes on so easily. With the good weather we have now my 3 children are outdoors at every opportunity and I have been using the factor 30 and factor 50 and I have felt they are well protected. Another plus with the Soltan is that it does not dry out the skin. I would definitely recommend the soltan range and in particular the family pack in fact I have already purchased another pack for when we go on holidays later on this summer.

It's good to know the Soltan range have UVA protection - this is very important to me and my family, I'm very aware of it.
My skin isn't too pale, but if I'm not wearing makeup with an SPF on it, I routinely put cream on before I go out - especiall if I'm running. This week I tried the SPF30 - again I found it to have a lovely smell, wasn't too greasy and soaked in well, leaving my skin feeling soft and smoothe.
I would be very happy to use the Soltan range, and will definitely use the pack we have been sent. I would be very happy to buy it again, and I would recommend to other mums.
Thanks for letting us try this out .
