We had the Fish Goujons first we cooked them in the oven so they were lovely and crispy while the fish inside was still nice and tender. We had them with oven chips mushy pea and tartare sauce - a perfect midweek dinner for the whole family.
Next up - seafood platter!! How very posh Fish strips, breaded shrimp, salt&vinegar bites served with ketchup and garlic dip and tartare sauce - Saturday evening in front of the telly fare - everyone helped themselves and the winner by far was the breaded shrimp - it was first off the plate, followed closely by the strips, really yummy and crunchy. The salt and vinegar bites were the least favourite - they smelled devine and I am a real lover of vinegar on my fried food, but this left a lingering aftertaste which wasn't altogether very pleasant - saying that I'm not one to see food go to waste so removed the coating and ate the fish.
Finally the prawns - first we reduced equal parts sweet chili sauce, honey and soy sauce, on the pan, - cooked the defrosted prawns until cooked, added a handdul of sesame seeds for garnish and served with rice and a portion of stirfried veggies - absolutely devine.
Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the Seafest products and they will be a regular staple in the freezer going forward. definitely beats fishfingers for tea - easy to cook so is the perfect go to midweek dinner for a growing family after a busy day.
