16-year-old Kaia Gerber has made her first appearance on the runway at New York Fashion Week.
Although the youngster has been signed to a modelling agency for several years already, she had to wait until she was 16 to appear on the runway.
Kaia celebrated her 16th birthday last week and promptly hit the runway for Calvin Klein.
Of course, mum Cindy Crawford, 51, who was one of the most iconic 90s supermodels was on hand to offer her daughter advice and support.
Kaia shared a clip of herself and her proud mum to her Instagram story after the show, writing: “Celebrating with mama”.
Cindy herself often walked for Calvin Klein during her career and now Kaia is continuing her legacy.
Kaia looked confident and comfortable as she strutted down the runway in this season’s hottest new trends. No doubt Cindy gave her some helpful tips!
In the past, Cindy has expressed concerns about Kaia entering the modelling world.
“Today, models are expected to be so tiny, and I worry about that for her, because that was never my natural body type and I don’t think it’ll be hers either,” the 51-year-old said.
Cindy is not about to hold Kaia back from pursuing her dreams, however, and while it seems she will definitely be keeping an eye on her progress, she did share some advice for the teen.
“Enjoy carbs while you can!” she joked, adding, “Kaia’s blossoming into such a beautiful young woman and I really want to let her shine.
“I don’t want her to feel in competition with me…But she’ll be fine! She’s much more together and worldly than I was at her age”.
