Funderland has long been a favourite of ours.

It's been 40 years since the Winter Wonderland opened in Ireland, and we have to say, it's never been better.

As you walk through the entrance, you're greeted by the Christmas market which comprises of adorable little cabins and sparkling lights. The kids went wild for the little keepsakes that they were selling there and it makes the build-up even more special as you make your way to the rides.

And the rides! We're so used to small, funfair-type rides here in Ireland, but with the likes of Around The World and the Tsunami, they certainly take you for a spin!

One thing we noticed was that the length of the rides seem to be much longer than before. You're rocking around the rollercoaster for a good few minutes (it's hard to actually count when you're being blasted up in the air), and it was a nice change to the usual hop-on, and 30 seconds later, hop-off.

As we made our way around Simmonscourt, we also couldn't help our tastebuds as the smell of everything from burgers and German suasages to crepes and Spanish churros hit the air. We have to admit that we might have indulged ourselves a little bit there!

If you have smaller childen, there is an area to the right of the RDS which is perfectly suited to the little ones or kids who don't fancy the faster rides. There's a lot to choose from, and they're beside the toilets too, so if you need a quick escape, that comes in handy.

All in all, from the skating rink, to the rides and food, it was a great night out for all the family. Nobody will be bored, and honestly, they won't want to leave (ours nearly had a heart attack when we said it was time to go!).

Funderland is back ladies, and it definitely is bigger, brighter and better than ever.
