Hearts went out to Dana and Arkell Graves when their much-longed-for baby was born just 23 weeks into their pregnancy, but today, we have the most positive update yet on their journey.

After overcoming all of the obstacles and beating the odds stacked against him, Baby Kaleb – also known as ‘Baby Buns’, thanks to that viral video – has finally progressed enough for his parents to start work on his homecoming plans.

Dana and Arkell confirmed the news during an interview with People, just days after sharing beautiful new photos of their ‘little fighter’ – who, incidentally, is just one ounce away from weighing six pounds!

It has been a long, hard road for the family. Things took a dramatic turn last October, just weeks after their pregnancy announcement became a YouTube hit, when doctors were forced to deliver Kaleb just 23 weeks into Dana’s pregnancy.

When you feel as if you're at the end of your rope, Tie a knot, hold on and Keep fighting! Blessings to all the babies in the NICU and their families. Happy 20 weeks, 1 oz away from 6 lbs! #TeamKaleb!

Both mother and baby were left in critical condition, with doctors fearing the worst for little Kaleb.

The tot has undergone heart surgery and a chronic lung infection, and has had fluid drained from his brain, but he has continued to fight and has been hailed a ‘miracle’ by his family and health experts alike.

Sharing the new photos of their son on Facebook this week, Dana and Arkell wrote: “When you feel as if you’re at the end of your rope, tie a knot, hold on and keep fighting! Blessings to all the babies in the NICU and their families. Happy 20 weeks!”

We are so thrilled to hear that Baby Kaleb will soon be heading home.
