Mums across Ireland can finally reclaim their ipads, e-books and MP3 players off their children. VTech has released the InnoTab, a new toy for kids that combines e-books, educational games, music, a photo viewer and an art studio all in one touch-screen, handheld tablet. This device is aimed at kids between the ages of 4 and 9.

The games, apps and e-reader are a great way of implementing learning into your child’s games. This tablet allows children to develop core skills such as reading, spelling, math, logic and creativity. Applications include an art studio, e-reader, photo viewer and video player. It comes complete with a state-of-the art gravity sensor control for superior motion based gaming and also has built-in auto picture rotation.

As the InnoTab functions as an educational tool, parents can monitor their child’s progress with a built-in tracker which can be downloaded using the VTech Learning Lodge Navigator – so if your child’s reading is progressing more than their maths, you can download extra games and learning apps that will suit your child. To download more games and apps visit www.vtechuk.com/download

Innotab is available in Argos, Amazon, Debenhams, Hamleys, Littlewoods, Smyths, and all other good toy retailers. The InnoTab console retails around €100 and software retails around €30.

We have five Innotabs that we would like mums (or rather their kiddies) to test out for us. To be part of this test, you must join this group and leave a comment below noting your interest to take part. Your child should be between the age of 4 and 9 to take part in this trial.

This product trial is now closed. Testers of the InnoTab are Julie-Anne McCarthy, Emma Heuston, Jennie O’Shea, Claire Murray and Liz Dunne-Byrne.

Hi,

I would love to test this out on both my 4 and 6 year old sons, They love the ds and books it would be great to keep the 6 year old interested in reading and get the 4 year old into reading, while combining the gadget appeal.

We've been looking at this for our eldest (she'll be 5 in 2 weeks) for Christmas too - might have trouble wrestling it away from her dad though!!

My just 4year old daughter would be so happy to receive this for christmas, she loves learning at montessori and it would be a great start to her before beginning school next year. It would also save us lots of tears at the weekends when we travel to visit both familes, it would keep her and her twin sisters entertained in the back of the car and keep us calm in the front! If we got to test the Innotab it would prolong the life of my phone as my daughter constantly wants to see all my photos! She could have her own photos on the Innotab! Please let us test the Innotab for you!

Develop core skills in reading, spelling, maths, logic and creativity with the many included activities such as an e-reader, art studio, video player and photo viewer.

Hi. I would love to test the innotab. I have 2 boys who are the perfect ages 3 and 8. My 3 year old can work my HTC better than me at this stage. They both love touch screen phones so this would be a perfect toy for them. And as for testing it against bumps and drops, my 2 boys are as rough and tumble as they come. Vtech is nearly the only brand that survives in our house. Hope we get the opportunity to test it, Thanks Suzanne, Eoghan and Conor x
