A mum has been charged with child endangerment following the tragic death of her three-month-old daughter.

Iowa woman Laci Lynn Taylor, 26, left her daughter, RemmeLyn, alone on her changing table on September 18, while she went to fetch her a bottle.

The baby is said to have been left unattended for around 15 minutes, during which time tragedy struck.

According to reports, the tot rolled over on the table and her neck became compressed on the ledge. Her airways were cut off, and she passed away shortly after.

A police rep explained afterwards: “This was something that could have been predicted and prevented if the child was attended to. She [Laci Lynn] didn’t have any intent to kill her child, but there was such a significant failure in parenting that it resulted in this child’s death.”

Laci Lynn’s husband, Don Taylor, has described the incident as a ‘freak accident’.

Laci Lynn has been charged with child endangerment resulting in death, for which the maximum penalty is 25 years’ imprisonment.
