There’s an old saying that goes ‘if you didn’t laugh, you’d cry’, and never has there been a more apt use of the phrase!
As those of you reading this will know only too well, being a mum and running a house are challenging to say the least, and it’s only right that we give special recognition and praise to the Irish mum who is magically able to do everything.
By the time Mum has sorted the lunches, washed the uniforms, prepared the dinner – plus the hundred-and-one other things she does without complaint – there is often very little time left for herself, and it’s time that someone shouted this from the rooftops.
That is exactly what the hilarious folk at RTÉ’s Breakfast Republic decided to do this week with their ‘Go Go Woman’ parody song. ‘Go Go Woman’ is the ultimate tribute to the Irish mum who does everything – and never once utters a word about it.
