They officially called time on their romance last year, but both stars remained tight-lipped over the circumstances surrounding their broken engagement.
Now, for the first time, actress Kate Hudson has broken her silence over her split from Muse rocker Matt Bellamy.
The couple were together for four years and have one child, three-year-old son Bingham, together.
Opening up about the split, the Bride Wars star told Allure magazine that the break-up stemmed from the fact that she and Bellamy had ‘different visions’ for their futures.
“Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to re-frame it. If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives,” she explained.
Kate, who is also mum to 11-year-old son Ryder, added that she and Bellamy have been able to ‘rebuild’ a relationship that best suits them and their kids.
“It’s been a seamless transition. Kids just want to see their parents be cool. Everybody’s cool; everybody’s good,” she added.
