According to reports today, Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz is mourning the death of her father, Eduardo.
Eduardo’s brother-in-law confirmed the news to HOLA magazine, saying that the 62-year-old passed away after suffering a heart attack in the early hours of this morning.
Truth magazine went on to report that medics were called to Eduardo’s home at around 2am, but sadly, they were unable to save his life.
Eduardo, who had a very close relationship with Vicky Cristina Barcelona star Penelope, was also dad to daughter Monica and son Eduardo Jr.
Penelope, who is herself a mother to four-year-old son Leo and 23-month-old daughter Luna with husband Javier Bardem, has yet to release a public statement.
The 42-year-old previously gave an insight into what family means to her during an interview with The Mirror.
“You need to have time for your own life and as a mother that changes even more. Family is the most important thing for me…and if you have children you want to raise them yourself,” she said.
