While many of us struggle to have our photo taken at the best of times, there are some very brave women out there who are happy to be filmed during some of their most intimate moments.

While giving birth is one of the most empowering experiences you might experience, it’s also a time of intense discomfort, vulnerability and lets face it, it can be messier than we ever anticipated.

Despite this, German supermodel Heidi Klum, knew she wanted to document the precious moments she met her children for the first time, saying: “I wanted to have a film for my kids.“

Acknowledging that not everyone may want to see footage of the moment they arrived as a mewling newborn, Heidi diplomatically asserted: “If they don't want to see it, we can throw it away.”

So, who did the honours for the world-famous stunner? Her ex-husband, Seal, perhaps? Or an obliging nurse?

No, 41-year-old Heidi knew exactly who she wanted to capture the special events, so she called on her father, Gunther, to lend his skills.

Explaining the reasoning behind her choice, Heidi said: “I wanted Seal by my side, not filming. And I don’t want to hire someone I don’t know.”

Completely comfortable with her father’s presence during her labour, Heidi said: “I had no problem doing it at all! I’m his kid. He made me! So he can watch my kids being born.”

The divorced mum-of-four happily allowed her father access to the delivery room, saying: “To me that is totally normal.”

Would you consider doing the same?
