Whatever your religious beliefs may be, we’re sure there are many of you out there who will agree that there are certain ‘guardian angels’ who walk the Earth in human form. Leonardo Araujo, it seems, is one of those people.

Leonardo, a receptionist at a hospital in Brazil, has come in for great praise this week for saving a baby boy from a nasty fall with his super-quick reflexes.

CCTV footage captured at the hospital’s front desk shows new dad Carlos Henrique placing his son’s carrier down on the counter, while Leonardo sits at his computer.

Suddenly, the carrier tips forward, throwing baby boy Enzo forward and over the counter. The tot is falling to the floor – and, surely, on his way to serious injury – when Leonardo catches the tot with one hand.

Speaking to local media after the footage was released, Leonardo said he was alerted by the father’s ‘scream’.

With the baby’s parents in shock in the aftermath, Leonardo is seen comforting the baby in his arms while they recover.

Apparently, the couple’s carrier was not locking properly, which led to the very near-miss. Thank heavens the tot was OK.
