Katie Price has insisted that she thought her marriage was ‘perfect’ before discovering her husband’s affair with their family nanny.
The mum-of-five surprised everyone last weekend, when she confirmed that she would be filing for divorce from her third husband, Kieran Hayler.
Katie revealed that Kieran – who previously cheated on her with her best friend, Jane Pountney – had been having a year-long affair with their nanny, Nikki Brown.
Appearing on Loose Women today, in her first live appearance since sharing the news, she shared her disbelief.
“As far as I knew, our marriage was perfect, our sex life was perfect, the family unit was perfect,” she said.
“With going to work, I employed a nanny to come in. And, as everyone knows, I’ve caught him, again, having an affair with my nanny for a year.”
Katie – who shares four-year-old Jett and three-year-old Bunny with Kieran – said that contrary to rumours, she had not kicked him out of her home. She added that she wants to deal with the situation ‘maturely’, for the sake of the kids.
She did, however, say that ‘other things are going to come out’ in the coming weeks and months.
When asked about Kieran’s reaction to her discovery of his infidelity, Katie described him as ‘devastated’.
“I’m like, ‘Well, you’re devastated but you’ve done this to me.’ But he doesn’t want to lose me. He does need help, he does have a [sex] addiction,” she explained.
“It’s confusing, as when I come home to him, I love him. But I don’t deserve to be hurt. I love him…There’s no future for us at the moment, he needs to get help.”
Katie has been very open about the couple’s ups and downs, ever since finding out about Kieran’s affair with Poutney, who served as bridesmaid at their wedding.
In several episodes of Loose Women, she has discussed their marriage counselling and Kieran’s therapy for sex addiction.
