It’s been 24 years since Hocus Pocus came out, yet we still find ourselves watching it every year at Halloween.
It’s a classic, and we love watching the clever kids outwit the evil coven of witches played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
We get a serious dose of '90s nostalgia just thinking about it… good thing Halloween isn’t too far away.
If you’re also a fan, you’ll be delighted to hear Vinessa Shaw, who played Allison in the movie, is expecting a baby.
41-year-old Vinessa announced her happy news on Instagram with a photo of herself and husband Kristopher Gifford standing in front of what looks like a standard red-carpet backdrop.
However, when you take a closer look, the image plastered all over the background is that of a baby sitting inside a half moon, and the wording alongside reads “Great news! I am pregnant.”
Vinessa wrote underneath: “Great news! We are proud and excited to share that we are expecting a little one early next year...My hubby is a graphic designer, so I hope you appreciate his cheekiness.”
Appropriate as that announcement was, Vinessa then shared a second image of a positive pregnancy test underneath the outline of the three iconic Sanderson Sisters.
“Winnie, I smell…a child,” is written on the picture, with “It’s just a bunch of hocus pocus” underneath.
“Maybe I should have used this as my pregnancy announcement?” she wrote.
We’re still waiting for a Hocus Pocus sequel, and while Bette Midler shut down rumors of another instalment in 2015, Sarah Jessica Parker later admitted she “would love” if the idea came to fruition. Please make it happen!
We’re thrilled for Vinessa and Kristopher - such exciting news! No doubt the little one will have them 'running amuck' in no time!
