Reality star Heidi Pratt certainly surprised husband Spencer with her pregnancy news.
The Celebrity Big Brother star revealed that he had only just got out of bed when he saw Heidi “just standing there”, waiting to give him the exciting news.
He told US magazine “The look on her face, I can’t even describe it. She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread.”
However, Heidi’s news proved to be a bit more exciting. “Heidi said, ‘I’m pregnant,’ ” continues Pratt. “I was like, ‘Whoa, that’s way more exciting than banana bread!’ ”
Heidi who is 12 weeks pregnant and due on October 19, relived the moment saying: “I just started crying and he embraced me.”
The couple were lucky to conceive just a month after they began trying for a baby.
Since revealing their initial news, they’ve posted several pregnancy updates on Instagram and Snapchat.
In one of Spencer’s Instagram Stories, Heidi is seen buckling her seatbelt around her bump with the caption “Prego problems.”
He also posted a black and white snap of Heidi with her bump clearly visible.
Spencer explained that “Heidi has wanted to be a mom since the day I met her. She has planned for and thought about this.”
Heidi explained that after feeling nauseous she took a pregnancy test and discovered she was expecting.
The mum-to-be didn’t have cravings at first as she was laid low with a bad bout of morning sickness. However, she’s since developed cravings for salt and vinegar crisps and sweets.
She also revealed that she’s hoping for a little boy “to continue the Pratt name” and that she’s been looking up ideas for a gender reveal online.
Plans for a baby have been on the cards for some time, Heidi explained.
“I wanted a baby three years ago. Spencer was a little hesitant. Then, one thing after another came up. We had work obligations, like Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, which I did not want to be pregnant for,” she revealed.
“I’m actually really thankful we waited. I thought I was ready in my twenties, but with everything we had going on, it just wouldn’t have been a good situation for us.”
Heidi and Spencer rose to fame on reality show The Hills and have been married for eight years.
It seems the hills are alive with the pitter-patter of tiny feet as Heidi’s former co-stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port are both pregnant also.
