Pregnant Izzy Judd has opened up about how sad she felt when friends announced their pregnancies after she suffered a miscarriage.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome meant Izzy found it very difficult to conceive and turned to IVF.

Izzy became pregnant during the first round of IVF but sadly suffered a miscarriage. But after the heartbreak, she became pregnant again through IVF with daughter Lola and is now expecting her second child.

Izzy, who is set to welcome her second baby in September wanted to be tactful when she was making her own pregnant announcements as she knew how it felt to hear baby news while trying to conceive.

“Pregnancy announcements are one of the toughest things and whenever we'd heard one, whether it be on Facebook or in a magazine, it would just sort of hit me that little bit harder”, she told The Mail Online.

“I wanted to be happy for people but inside I felt so gutted that it wasn't our turn”.

While Izzy was trying for a baby with husband Harry, her close friend Giovanna Fletcher, wife of McFly lead singer Tom, became pregnant with her son Buzz.

However, Izzy said Giovanna was sensitive to her friend’s feelings, having suffered a miscarriage herself.

She explained: “Giovanna has always been a very close friend of mine and she always knew what was going on and was incredibly sensitive.

“We both share the experience of going through miscarriages”.

Izzy conceived her second baby naturally and discovered she was pregnant while writing her book Dare to Dream about her struggle to become a mum.

The 33-year-old said: "It was a complete shock and I thought, ‘My goodness, how am I going to announce this pregnancy?’ and I just hoped that it would give other couples hope.

“People used to say to me, ‘Oh you'll probably fall pregnant naturally next time,’ but I never thought that we would be that couple, so it was a complete shock - but a wonderful one”.

The musician and best-selling author eventually revealed her happy news with an Instagram snap of baby Lola gently touching Izzy’s bump.

This time around, Izzy has different worries about the birth.

She explained: "I think last time, I was terrified about birth with Lola whereas this time I'm more worried about leaving her”.

She even joked that she’d consider going it alone in the delivery room so Harry could stay at home with Lola.

“I said to Harry ‘Why don't you stay at home with Lola and I'll have the baby?!’ He was like, ‘Don't be so ridiculous!’ Obviously, I didn't really mean it, but she's still my baby”.

We think it’s very brave of Izzy to open up about such a difficult time in her life and we can’t wait for the baby’s arrival.
