Iconic Call The Midwife character returns in sneak preview of Christmas special

Fans of Call The Midwife have waved goodbye to many beloved characters since the show first aired. We’ve bid farewell to Nurse Jenny, Chummy and most recently Nurse Barbara and every goodbye were as hard as the one before.

We were gutted when Nurse Trixie, played by Helen George, temporarily bowed out of the show. Helen took a break from the show after she became a mum herself last year. However, the actress is set to return to the show just in time for the Christmas special.

The official Call The Midwife account shared a sneak peek at Trixie’s return and it is every bit as glamorous and dramatic as we expected.

The nurse is greeted by a very snowy London as she exits the local train station with her sunglasses on and arms full of luggage.

Trixie looks as content as ever as she looks around at the place she calls home.

Fans quickly rejoiced over the video and we don’t blame them. The show hasn’t been the same without Helen George.

“Oh my god, I am so excited to see Trixie return! I can’t wait for the show!” one said.

Another added: “I love Trixie. Looking forward to the Christmas Special.”
