Rebekah Vardy has come in for major praise on social media today, after sharing her refreshing thoughts on body image.
The 35-year-old, who is married to Leicester and England footballer Jamie Vardy, took to Instagram to share her thoughts on her changing shape.
She posted a collage-photo of herself at three different times in her life, just over a year apart. In the first, she is pictured just before her May 2016 wedding, while ‘hammering the gym to be super-toned’. In the second shot, Rebekah is pregnant with her son Finley; while in the third, she is pictured on her holidays, just a few weeks ago.
“It’s amazing how many changes the female body can go through,” wrote Rebekah, who is a mum-of-four.
“My body is still changing now, and I’m absolutely nowhere near my pre-baby body – probably never will be, as I may never feel inclined to work out that hard ever again. But I’m OK with that – we are who we are.”
Rebekah and Jamie are parents to two-year-old daughter Sofia, and seven-month-old son Finley. She is also mum to 11-year-old Megan and six-year-old Taylor, from previous relationships.
Rebekah, who is known for speaking her mind, came in for great praise for sharing such a positive message about body image.
“You look fab, and what a good role model to all the mums out there, too,” wrote one fan.
Another took the opportunity to share her own feel-good message: “I’ve come to the conclusion recently that I don’t look half-bad as a mum to three…Sure, I could be a bit more toned, lose an inch or two…but why?
“I exercise when I can/want to, but I enjoy my time with my babies in the daytime, and my evening glass of wine too much to take it too seriously.”
Meanwhile, another like-minded mum chimed in with an equally heart-warming message: “My body is not the same as it was before my son, but who cares? I created a human.”
We love Rebekah for sharing such a strong and positive message – we can all take a little inspiration from her today.
