Peter Andre wasn’t too pleased when ex-wife Katie Price set their children up with Instagram accounts last year, and it seems the singer is strict when it comes to their use of technology.

The 44-year-old has opened up about his ‘strict’ approach to parenting in his latest interview, with OK! magazine.

Peter – who is also father to three-year-old Amelia, and four-month-old Theo – shared his views as he posed for a gorgeous photo shoot alongside Junior, 12, and Princes, nine.

He explained why he hasn’t allowed either Junior or Princess to have their own phones.

“I know some will disagree with me, but I’m trying to keep Princess and Junior young and innocent while I can,” he said.

“Once they get phones, they’ll always have them; and the minute they get on social media, there’s no going back. So, I’m trying to drag it out for as long as I possibly can.”

Last year, the children’s mother, Katie, came in for major criticism when she set up Instagram account for Junior and Princess. Despite being in breach of the social media site’s terms of agreement, which set the minimum age of members at 13; Katie insisted the move was helpful for their careers.

Peter, who wasn’t too impressed with the move by Katie, admitted that he had to ‘compromise’ in the situation – but that doesn’t mean his children have free reign with social media.

“I don’t let the kids use any social media at my house,” he said, revealing that, instead, the family engages in games and quality family time.

“They do have iPads, but I limit the amount of time they have on them. I am dun at the weekend, and I let them stay up and we eat takeaways; but during the week, I’m like, ‘Right, bed early, do your homework.’ And they eat healthily.”

While Peter admitted that ‘his way is not necessarily the right way’, he insisted that he is just using his parents’ fine example as guidance.

What do you think of Peter’s rules for technology and social media with his children? Do you think it will make a difference when his little ones finally get their hands on their own phones, and have free reign with social media?
