You better not forget your hat and scarf when you’re rushing out the door to work this week as Ireland is set to experience sub-zero temperatures.
Unfortunately, the cold snap isn’t going anywhere, with the weather set to worsen in the coming days.
Met Éireann has shared that the weather is set to become blustery tomorrow, with heavy rain forecasted.
And the worst news yet- it looks like the chances of snowfall are extremely high.
Wintry showers, hail, sleet, thunder and snow have been forecasted for Tuesday, with daytime temperatures dropping to as low as one degree.
With temperatures set to drop to minus zero, AA Rescue has warned motorists to be extremely cautious when travelling this week.
They have asked drivers to take their time, especially on affected roads, where there may be black ice.
Conor Faughnan of AA told The Journal, “Anyone driving home from work on Monday and Tuesday evening, when it appears the risk of snow or ice will be at its highest, needs to drive with extra care as the absence of daylight combined with treacherous conditions can greatly increase the danger of driving.”
Remeber to keep an eye out for road users who are in trouble, this is a peak time of year for car trouble as people aren’t using their cars as often during the weekend.
Drive safe, mums!
