FLYEfit Is Letting Dads Into the Gym for Free This Fathers Day

If you've been quietly trying to nudge the dad in your life towards the gym, this Sunday might just be the perfect moment. FLYEfit is inviting all members to bring their dad along for free this Father's Day, 21st June, across every one of its gyms in Ireland.

That's right — no guest fee, no strings, just a free pass for Dad to come in and get moving. Whether he's a seasoned gym-goer who's let his routine slip, someone who hasn't darkened the door of a weights room in years, or a complete first-timer who doesn't quite know where to start, the initiative is designed to welcome all fitness levels.

Because dads need to mind themselves too

We all know how it goes. Between work, the school run handoffs, the weekend lifts to GAA training, and whatever else life throws at them, dads are often the last ones to carve out time for their own health. FLYEfit's personal trainers say they see it regularly — fathers who genuinely want to stay fit but just can't seem to make it a priority when everything else is competing for their attention.

Charles Iheme, Assistant Manager at FLYEfit Blanchardstown, put it well: "Gym training helps fathers build strength, improve fitness, and maintain the energy needed to keep up with their children throughout the day. By staying active and physically capable, fathers can more easily move, play and enjoy quality time with their kids while supporting their long-term health and wellbeing."

That bit about keeping up with the kids? Genuinely true. Because there's a certain kind of exhausted that only a parent of small children knows, and having a dad who's got a bit of energy in the tank makes a real difference to family life.

A gym trip as a Father's Day gift? Hear us out

Father's Day gifts can be notoriously tricky. Another pair of socks? A novelty mug? This year there's an option that's actually useful — bring him along with you and make a morning of it. It's something a bit different, a bit active, and it costs nothing for him to get through the door.

Orla Reddy, Head of Marketing at FLYEfit, said: "Exercise doesn't have to be intimidating. Sometimes all it takes is one visit and the support of a family member to get started. We're looking forward to welcoming dads into our gyms across the country on Father's Day."

There's something genuinely lovely in that idea — going together, doing something that's good for both of you, and maybe discovering that Dad is surprisingly enthusiastic once he gets past the front door.

What you need to know

The offer is open this Sunday 21st June only. Dads must be accompanied by a FLYEfit member to access the gym — so you'll need to be a member yourself to bring him along. The initiative is open to fathers of all fitness levels, from absolute beginners to those who just need a nudge to get back into a regular routine.

FLYEfit has gyms across Ireland, so the chances are there's one near you. For more information and to find your nearest location, visit flyefit.ie.

It might just be the start of something he actually sticks with — and that's a Father's Day gift worth giving.
