The Christmas festivities have brought celebrations to households all over the country, but there was a little extra joy in store for one of Irish soccer's best-loved legends.

Congratulations are in order this week for Irish international goalkeeper Shay Given, who has become a father for the third time.

According to reports, the 39-year-old welcomed a daughter with partner Becky Gibson on December 1. The newborn tot is said to have been named Grace. What a gorgeous choice!

While this is the first child for the couple, Shay is already father to nine-year-old son Shay and six-year-old daughter Sienna; his children from his marriage to Jane Cunningham.

The couple's baby news hit the headlines back in August, with Shay's agent confirming that they were expecting their first child together.

Speaking to the Irish Sun at the time, Mark Devlin said: “Shay and Becky are extremely happy together and are very excited to welcome their new arrival to the world.”

“From my point of view, I’ve never seen Shay as happy as this, and I wish them all the happiness in the world,” he added.

Congratulations to Shay, Becky and the family on the arrival of their little one.
