Jade Goody passed away eight years ago, and ever since, former partner Jeff Brazier has worked hard to help their sons, Freddy and Bobby, through their grief.
Most recently, the TV presenter has chosen to sit down with his boys and re-watch Jade’s old reality TV appearances – and all three of them are thoroughly enjoying the process.
Following the release of his book, The Grief Survival Guide, the 38-year-old has been taking to Instagram to share short videos documenting the things he is grateful for. In last night’s edition, he opened up about his latest ritual with his sons.
The This Morning regular admitted that he was moved to delve into Jade’s back-catalogue after an appearance on Loose Women.
“Watching footage of Jade was very emotional for me,” Jeff said, shooting the video from his bedroom.
“After speaking with the boys about it, tonight we watched some of her Living TV appearances, on Jade’s Salon,” he said, referring to the show that followed the launch of Jade’s first business, Ugly’s.
Well, what was the verdict?
“They loved it, absolutely loved it,” Jeff told his legion of followers. “They can’t wait to watch the next one.”
Jeff has always been vocal about life as a single parent, and the challenges of raising his boys after their tragic loss. Indeed, it was his experience with this grief that drove him to write and release his book.
“There’s the value of grief which differs from one person to the next, then vitally, there’s what we personally add to it or what the grief combines with, that ultimately decides which journey through grief we experience,” explained Jeff, ahead of the release of his book.
“Writing this book has brought me a privileged view not only of grief in its entirety but how we react as humans when processing loss.”
Jeff is now committed to helping others through their own devastating loss, and has even set up a private Facebook group for his readers, where they can talk and seek support.
Jeff and Jade, who rose to fame on Big Brother, met and started dating in 2002. They went on to welcome Bobby in 2003, and Freddy a year later, just months before calling time on their relationship.
While both moved on to other relationships, they always stayed amicable.
We applaud Jeff for what he is doing for his sons and others who are going through a difficult time.
