No matter what our stance may be before they enter the world, once we set eyes on our children it’s actually very hard not to engage in a bit of baby talk!

Be honest, here; how many of you find yourself giggling and gurgling back at your little one, referring to their ‘dodey’ (that’s a soother, to everyone else) and ‘boccie’ (our favourite alternative to ‘bottle’)?

It’s just a sweet little habit we get into, and if it bring a smile to our baby’s face, then what’s the harm?

Just don’t tell Lisa Oldfield, one of the controversial stars of The Real Housewives of Sydney, who had branded it ‘bulls**t’!

The 42-year-old is well known for taking absolutely NO prisoners, and previously caused quite the stir when she branded her sons – seven-year-old Harry, and five-year-old Albert – ‘d**kheads’.

In the infamous radio interview, Lisa admitted that she talks to her young boys exactly like she would an adult – and they frequently use swear words.

Lisa is back at it again in a new interview, with Millennial Mama, and she had some more choice advice to share with mums all over the world.

Rule number one of parenting, according to Lisa, is to avoid using baby talk when communicating with our little ones.

“Don’t ever talk to them in baby talk – it’s bulls**t, and it’s annoying for the kids and for you when they start talking back that way,” she said.

“I speak to my children in exactly the same was as I’d speak to an adult.”

Lisa also revealed that, in order to ensure she gets as much bonding time as possible with her boys, she ‘outsources’ all of her housework.

“Those two little boys are the dearest things to my heart. My time with them is a rare and valued commodity,” explained Lisa, who is married to former politician David Oldfield.

“I outsource ironing, cleaning, maintenance and every other crap job, so that the time I have with Harry and Bertie is good, solid quality time.”

Well, mums – what are your thoughts on Lisa’s advice? Are you tempted to follow? Be sure to let us know, and – in honour of Lisa – don’t hold back!
