Congratulations are in order for tennis star Serena Williams, who has reportedly given birth to her first child.

US news producer Chris Shepherd announced the news on Twitter this evening, quoting a source from St. Mary's Medical Centre in Florida, who confirmed that Serena and fiancé Alexis Ohanian welcomed a daughter.

"Tennis star Serena Williams gives birth to a baby girl weighing 6lbs 13oz. Mum and baby doing well," he tweeted.

Close friend Beyoncé also took to her social media channels to send love to the tennis champ, sharing a stunning picture from her pregnancy, the caption simply reading: "Congratulations, Serena!"

Serena, 35, announced her pregnancy news back in April, sharing a photo of her blossoming baby bump to Snapchat. She admitted that she was initially taken aback, as she had big plans for the tennis season ahead. A true champ, Serena went on to not only compete in, but claim victory at the Australian Open.

"I told Alexis it has to be a girl, because there I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way," she said, in a recent interview.

Well, it looks like she was right! We're sending lots of love to the new parents this weekend - we can't wait to find out all about their bundle of joy!
