Amid much excitement over recent weeks, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, has now officially been baptised.

The youngest member of the royal family was christened in St. Mary Magdalene Church on her great-grandmother’s Norfolk estate this afternoon.

The ceremony, which began at 4.30pm, was attended by a small number of family and friends while eager members of the public congregated outside the church for a glimpse of the Cambridges as they made their first public appearance as a family of four.

Thankfully, the rain, which had been a feature of much of the afternoon, cleared allowing the overjoyed family to make their way to the church in relative sunshine.

Arriving to the church in a traditional pram, the little princess was far from happy and shed a few tears as her doting mum lifted her from her carriage in order to carry her inside the church.

The utterly adorable Prince George appeared to relish the role of big brother as he happily marched alongside his father, Prince William, in front of hordes of fans and supporters of the royal family.

Wearing an outfit remarkably similar to the one which his father sported when meeting Prince Harry thirty years ago, Prince George clutched his father’s hand and gazed curiously around him as he made his way from Amner Hall.

When the church service, which was officiated by the Most Reverend, Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, came to a close, guests were invited to enjoy afternoon tea with the Queen.

Carrying Prince George on his hip, Prince William strolled alongside the beautiful Kate and his newly-christened baby daughter.

Congratulations to Prince William, Kate the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte on this very special day in personal and public history.
