James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ has become somewhat of a cult hit around the world, and each highly anticipated instalment leads to laughter and endless entertainment.

While the latest episode, featuring legendary rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was no different, a behind-the-scenes story has revealed that there was no shortage of drama on the day of recording.

During a radio interview on Radio X, lead singer Anthony Kiedis revealed that he helped to save a baby’s life when a frantic mother approached the crew after filming.

Recalling the heart-stopping moment, Anthony – who is himself a father-of-one – recalled how the group were preparing for a dance-off on a street corner when the woman approached them.

“A woman came out of her house holding a child, saying, ‘My baby, my baby, my baby can’t breathe!’ The lady thrust the baby into my arms. The baby was not breathing,” recounted the 53-year-old.

Admitting that his fatherly instincts immediately kicked in, Anthony added: “I tried to do a little baby CPR really quick. I started rubbing the belly, bubbles came out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place, the ambulance showed up, and I handed the baby over, who was now breathing and fine, and we went back to the Carpool Karaoke.”

The baby, called Nina, is thankfully now doing fine; Anthony said he might even pay her and her mother a visit, to check in on them.

This just goes to show that EVERYONE needs to know the basics of CPR. Well done to Anthony and all involved.
