It’s been reported today that Janet Jackson has split from her billionaire husband of five years, Wissam Al Mana.

Just three months ago Janet and Wissam welcomed a baby boy, who they named Eissa. Throughout her pregnancy, Janet was constantly in the headlines, as she had just turned 50 when she welcomed her first child.

She delayed part of her Unbreakable tour last April, explaining to fans that she was hoping to start a family. However, she didn’t confirm being pregnant until October.

Eissa arrived on January 3 this year.

According to The Mail on Sunday, the couple have reportedly split because of their "busy schedules."

"Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn't working and to go their separate ways," a source said.

"They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart.

"It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London."

Wissam is a business magnate originally from Qatar and in 2016 his wealth was valued at $100 billion.

There was some speculation that Janet could have converted to Islam, her husband’s religion, as she was spotted wearing a head scarf. However, this was never confirmed.

Wissam is Janet’s third husband. The superstar was previously married to singer James DeBarge in 1984 but the pair split the following year and the marriage was later annulled.

Her second husband was Mexican back-up dancer Rene Elizondo. They were married for nine years but spilt in 2000. It’s believed Rene received $10 million dollars in the divorce settlement.

The marriage ended badly with Rene accusing Janet of making him pretend they were boyfriend and girlfriend, rather than husband and wife, and Janet claiming that Rene’s addiction to prescription drugs ruined their marriage.

In an interview after the end of her second marriage, the singer admitted she might be “unlucky” in love.

“I thought I was jinxed,’ she said. ‘Maybe marriage isn’t for me? Maybe it’s my fault it never works.

“I was always faithful. When it was over, I put up shields to protect myself from being hurt."

This news comes just two months ago that Janet’s older brothers, Tito and Jackie, appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about their new nephew, saying: "Janet had a beautiful baby boy. It's all good. Everyone's fine. Everything's great."
