There is so much going on in your life when you welcome a child into the world, and this is where a little compassion is really appreciated – especially for new parents.

This is something that actress Jessica Biel can absolutely relate to, after welcoming son Silas Randall with singer husband Justin Timberlake last April.

The mother-of-one opened up to E!News this week about the inspiration behind opening her family-friendly restaurant, Au Fudge, and she admitted that much of it came from her ‘terror’ at the prospect of dining out with a baby.

“Since he’s so little still, and I’m still kind of learning how I do it in a very smooth and elegant way, it’s terrifying. You get to a place, you want to make sure the diners around you are not being bothered, you’re full of anxiety, you’re trying to go as fast as you can – you don’t enjoy it at all,” said the 33-year-old.

Admitting that she hopes none of her patrons will experience any of these feelings in her establishment, the Total Recall star insisted that Au Fudge will be a place for families in all shapes and sizes to relax and enjoy.

“That is exactly what we want to erase from the feeling of a mom, a dad, a family, a nanny, grandparents bringing their grandkids here…We just want you to feel stress-free about it and know that they’re playing with things that are safe, that we don’t use chemicals here, that there’s not just a bunch of plastic everywhere, and we’ve really tried to think very thoughtfully about your family, because it’s our family too,” she added.

Given just how many stories are out there, documenting how families have been shamed for doing nothing more than trying to enjoy a meal, we’re glad to hear Jessica speaking out on this topic.
