While speaking to Dax Shepard yesterday, Hollywood actor Josh Duhamel opened up about his desire to find the right woman to extend his family with.
The 45-year-old actor was previously married to The Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie for eight years, and the couple share an adorable son together; five-year-old Axl Jack.
He chatted to Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast about the next stage of his life.
He elaborated about his need to find a woman who is young enough to bear his children;
“I’m not 30 years old anymore. I’m 45. I want to have more kids in the next few years,” Duhamel said.
“So it’s more about finding someone young enough to have kids. It’s not as if I’m out there trying to just f— anything. That’s not who I am. I’m trying to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with.”
The actor split with Fergie in September 2017 after a relationship which spanned 13 years.
Despite their split, Duhamel speaks highly of his ex-wife and often gushing about her abilities as a mother;
“Fergie and I had a great relationship. I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately, we didn’t work. But I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby,” he said.
Just before announcing the separation, the Transformers star appeared on The Ellen Show to speak about life as a parent after having a child aged 40;
“I have no idea what I’m doing half the time,” Duhamel said. “Fergie’s definitely more evolved than I am, and more patient."
"But I feel like I’m much more – you know, having a kid when I was 40 years old is much different than having one at 22, so I’m a little bit more mature than I was then.”
The actor frequently posts images of his son Axl, who is absolutely adorable.
In terms of his love life, he was recently linked to Eiza Gonzales, a 28-year-old Mexican-American actress, earlier in the year but the couple split in July.
We hope he can find love again, but it's lovely to hear that himself and Fergie have evolved as parents.
