The Duchess of Cambridge is over the moon over the news that her closest friend has given birth to a healthy baby girl.
Sophie Snuggs confirmed via an announcement in The Times that she welcomed her new baby last month, and added the name Charlotte possibly as a tribute to Kate Middleton and her daughter, to whom Sophie is a godmother.
The notice in the paper reads: "SNUGGS On 21 June, to Sophie (nee Carter) and Robert, a daughter, Amalia Rose Charlotte."

Sophie and Robert wed in September of last year, and Princess Charlotte and Prince George acted as bridesmaid and pageboy at the Norfolk ceremony.
Kate's family have known Sophie for over ten years, and was a guest at Pippa Middleton's wedding to James Matthews and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials in May 2018.
She was given the honour of being named as one of Princess Charlotte's godparents in 2015, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's cousins; Laura Fellowes and Adam Middleton.
Family friends Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade were also named as godparents. Kate's close friend has numerous royal connections and family links with the Duchess of Cambridge.
Sophie grew up in the village of Letheringsett in Norfolk, near William and Kate's country home, Anmer Hall.
She also used to date Prince William's best friend Thomas van Straubenzee, and her brother Robert married one of Kate's old school friends, Hannah Gillingham. who is a royal godparent, to Prince Louis.
