my son (4) loves the tv ad for the honey pops and honey loops.he thinks it is a movie and i get roared at to turn on that movie when the ad comes on. so he was absolutely delighted to get the boxes of cereal with the bee on them. we have porridge (and blueberries) most mornings and buy 'cereal' for a treat. my son loves the chocolate kelloggs mini max. my partner would choose cornflakes . i like what ever is on offer. we all agree kelloggs cereal is a superior brand.
the honey pops and honey loops lasted longer than expected. we have them nearly two weeks and there is a small bit left. myself , my partner, and my 4 year old son had the pops and loops mainly. i had my sisters try them also. we all liked them. agreed they aren't overly sweet which was lovely. the two cereals are the same to me and i didnt like one over the other. my sisters liked the pops and my son only wants to eat them outta the box . he likes to mix and match. myself and my sisters would have had the old kelloggs loops and pops years ago but it had been too long to rememeber then.
i noticed that this cereal didnt keep me filled for very long. my son didn't complain though. it is always nice to know kelloggs cereal is high in fibre and fortified with essential vitamins and minerals. so even if i didn't find them filling i knew they where good for everyone.
i would buy kelloggs loops and pops again (on offer) it was nice for a change.

We were delighted to be part of this trial.
I usually buy Kellogs cornflakes and Rice Krispies, so these were new to us.
I feel A good high fibre cereal is important especially on school days when theres a good gap beteen breakfast and breaktime. I also like breakfast cereals not to be overly loaded with sugar. I think grain based foods and added vitamins are important to have in a healthy diet.
Both myself and my daughter tried both cereals, I preferred the Honey Loops whereas my daughtr liked both equally although preffered the loops with milk and the pops were liked as a snack for lunch, they are handy to pop into sandwich bags on car trips etc.
They tasted great and not too sweet like a lot of cereals can be.
It would be great if this were available in the small boxes, like the rice krispies, they are like a trial size but not as small as the variety pack boxes. My local Tesco currently has Rice Krispies(only)on their shelves in this mini size. It would be great for more cereals to be available in that size as I have thrown out too many big boxes of cereals when my daughter decided she didnt like them!
Thanks
K.

Hi all,
hope i'm not the last haha. So my family have polished off the boxes of honey pops and honey loops and all involved have given tham a big thumbs up. I will admit to being completely wrong in my thought of what they would be like..I thought they would be very sweet, sticky, hard, crunchy and unsuitable for my 5 yr old and 2 yr old toddler, but they were surprisingly grainy tasting (in a good way) and went soggy in the milk which the kids loved and not too sweet which i loved. I usually buy corn flakes and rice kripies and steer clear of the more sugary options as i'd rather give the kids the healthier cereal for good digestion etc, but these cereals have changed my mind, would definately not hesitate in picking up a box in the supermarket. my only gripe is they didn't last very long with the hubby sneaking big bowls!!

Having 2 children that take after me and dont want to eat soon after they get up is proving to be a bit of a problem now that they are back at school. I now have to get them to eat and be out of the house for school within 40 minutes of them getting up. It is ok during the summer and at weekends when I have time to be coaxing them and making different types of breakfasts to suit them but not on the manic schoolday mornings. Having grown up in a house where Kelloggs cereals were always the cereal of choice, I have continued the tradition and still buy Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies, which i love myself, at any time of the day. However, my 4 and 12 year old dont seem to have the same taste. I dislike a lot of the cereals and cereal bars i see advertised for children as i dont think they are as good or healthy for them so dont buy them. Kelloggs quality is always better and when eating away in hotels and breakfasts I often comment on how the cereal isnt as nice as its a cheaper version.
I dont really consider fibre a lot when looking at foods for myself and my kids, in fact we probably dont have enough in our diets, so it wount be a deciding factor for me in what food i purchase. I am aware that we should increase our fibre intake and that i need to introduce more grain based foods but rather than thinking of cereals i would have tried this by bread. However, this chance to trial these cereals has shown me that it is easy to introduce these into my childrens diet without a fight or fuss and Kelloggs cereals being fortified with vitamins and minerals is great and I will consider these in future. Both kids tried the cereal and really liked them. The packaging is very appealing and doesnt seem gaudy like some kids cereals. The loops were thier favourite and i think this is mainly due to the shape. I have never allowed my children sugar in thier cereals so the sweeter taste of both cereals really appealed to them but i like that its honey that provides this, not added sugar. They have also asked for a bowl in the evening twice and this is a really good sign that they like it. I will purchase the loops again and will continue to purchase Kelloggs cereals as i feel that they are a great way to start my kids day and its important to me that they have something good in them when facing a day at school.

Thank you very much for letting us take part in this great trial. My kids (aged 6, 9, 11, and 13) and myself loved both cereals, needless to say they didn't last long. We have been buying Kellog's Cornflakes and Rice Crispies before and very much enjoyed the Honey Pops and Loops. A good and healthy breakfast is very important to start a day and all my kids know that because mummy is always on about it. So thank you again and keep up the good work. :)

Yes I have purchased kellogg's cereal before it is our favourite tasting cereal

I would normally purchase crispies and cornflakes and sometimes when going on holidays buy the chocolate special k cluster box.
Yes I am aware of the slogan
Healthy means low in sugar and salt to me in breakfast cereal. I try to not buy any that has sugar content over 10g per 100g (except when going on a self catering holiday!)
Yes I appreciate the fortificationMy three kids and myself tried the honey loops and pops
We did like the taste of the cereal - my children in particualar liked them. We thought they tasted the same as each other. I thought they didn't taste as good as some nugget type cereals I have tasted. They had a slightly odd texture and didn't taste as sweet as they ought to with the level of sugar in them. That worries me as I wonder what you put in them to balance out the sugar taste.
I think Kellogg's brand is synonymous with breakfast and a good start to the day, I would imagine it is due to a large budget in the marketing dept. Irish people put a lot of stock in cereal and love kelloggs.
thank you for the opportunity to do this review

Firstly,Thank you for choosing my family to help with your trial! As a mother of four children aged 9,6,3 and 2 (who all love cereal not just in the mornings but at anytime of the day!) I am very used to having at least 4 different cereals in the cupboard at one time. We were very excited to receive these cereals and my 3 year old son was very happy to be the taster and he loved them! The loops lasted for a couple of days while the balls were less liked but not by much! Both boxes are finished and I have been asked to buy more! The tv advert us also loved in out house especially by my 2 year old! Overall we were very pleased with these cereals and they will be on our shopping list from now on!!!

plus points:
Nice packaging, attractive, pleasing to the eye etc
Very handy for school lunches, pop in a small conatiner with raisins, cheese etc
Sweet tasting, no need to add extra sugar as in weetabix (my kids wont eat without seeing sugar on top)
my kids liked a mixture together so perhaps a mixed box couldbe marketed.
Neg points:
Shock at the price of them in both large multiple and small convenience store locally, small enough box. Would throw in a couple treat boxes when on special offer however.
Amount of sugar content.
Found both went rubbery when left sitting in milk as my youngest the type to have a spoon, go get a tie, have a spoon, go get hairbrush etc.

My little one and I both tried them and I have to say they are delicious. i tried them with hot and cold milk and my child tried them without milk and with cold milk. I would have purchased Kelloggs cereals for years and years, mostly corn flakes or special K but lately have been trying the cheaper brands. But with Kelloggs, Its fantastic to know that it has added vitamins and minerals too, an added bonus. Its also nice to see my child enjoying the Kelloggs brand just like I did as a child myself. I definately would purchase these in the future.

After all the excitement of getting to try out a new cereal, we all settled in to test these two cereals properly.
We always buy Kellogg's cereal in our house - it ranges from Fruit n Fibre, Rice Crispies, Cornflakes, Special K, Mini Max - we try them all. Although we hadn't tried out Honey Loops or Pops yet.
I think breakfast is a really important meal, and with Kellogg's cereals being fortified with vitamins and minerals, and also containing grain, cereal is always the best choice for us.
The kid preferred the pops to the loops, but in general they loved them both. We will definitely be buying them again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other mums. Really enjoyed the trial. Thank you.

We had an absolute blast with this trial. We buy lots of different cereals in our house, but we hadn't tried these ones out yet. I didn't know Kellogg's didn't suppply to own brand, but i'm not surprised, I've tasted own brand, you know, trying to save a few pennies here and there, but it's just not worth it, the kids don't enjoy them and we end up chucking half the box away. Such a waste.
The cereals we normally have are Cornflakes, All Bran, Crunch Nut and Fruit Loops. We were really excited to take part in this tril to test the new Kellogg's Honey Pops and Loops. We all really enjoyed both cereals, but I think there was a preference for loops - maybe we're just used to the loop shape. Loved them both really and have already bought more in the weekly shop.
Will keep buying them I think, the kids really enjoy them, and they're great for an afternoon snack occasionally too. Thanks to Mummypages and Kellogg's for letting us be part of this fun trial.

Thanks for letting us take part. We're a real Kellogg's house, and cereals form breakfast and sometimes snacks like supper too. My mum bought Kellogg's so it was natural that I would give Kellogg's to my kids too. And they love it.
Breakfast is the number 1 meal in our house - get the right start and it's going to be a good day. The kids are often fussy in the morning so it can be a battle. Based on that I buy cereals that they will eat without a battle e.g. Rice Crispies, Mini Max etc. They just loved Honey Loops and Pops - the Pops were their favourite. The hubby loved the loops btw. :)
It's a great thing that Kellogg's cereals are fortified with vitamins and minerals.
Have already recommended Kellogg's Honey Loops and Pops to friends, and have bought them again myself.

Thanks very much for letting me take part in this trial. I always purchase Kellogg's cereal, mostly Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Multi-Grain Shapes and the Variety Pack. I have always loved the taste of Kellogg's cereals, no other brand can beat it! The whole family have cereal as part of a healthy breakfast every morning, a good high fibre cereal is important. Its great that Kellogg's fortifies its cereals with important vitamins and minerals.
My 4 year old son tried the Honey Pops and Honey Loops. He got very excited to see them arrive in the post! He liked them with and without milk. He loved the taste of both. Would recommend to others, great cereal.

Thank you for allowing us to try the Honey Pops and Honey Loops. My three children aged 9, 7 and 5 tried both. Unfortunately none of them liked either product. I was so disappointed as I prefer to give them high fibre cereals. They tried them both with milk and without but it didn't make any difference. I would regard the cereals as high quality, it's just unfortunate that mine didn't take to them. They do eat other kelloggs cerals.
