A spokesman for the mum-of-five confirmed the news in an official statement to new! magazine today, saying: “It is with deep sadness that Kerry announces the end of her marriage to George Kay. Her focus now will be on her gorgeous children.”
The sad news follows reports that fitness instructor George was arrested over the weekend for allegedly attacking the Atomic Kitten singer.
A Sussex police spokesman revealed the disturbing details of the incident today, saying: “On Saturday, police were called to an address in Crowborough after a report that a woman had been assaulted. A 35-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm to a 35-year-old woman, and of unlawful possession of a Taser. The woman had sustained bruising to her face and arms.”
This isn’t the first time that Kerry’s relationship with George has come under scrutiny. Kay was previously detained under the Mental Health Act after being found running down the street thinking someone was trying to kill him.
Kerry and George married last year and have an 18-month-old daughter, Dylan-Jorge, together.
