We are all aware of the dangers of the road, and while most of try our upmost to be extremely safe, particularly when there are kids in the back seat, accidents can and do happen.

According to reports, former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona’s kids were involved in a “traumatic” car collision and the singer was obviously left “distraught” by the events.

The 34-year-old’s children were travelling in a car being driven by their nanny when they were hit by another vehicle.

13-year-old Molly, Lilly-Sue, 12, eight-year-old Heidi and seven-year-old Max were in the car at the time and they were on their way to an unrelated appointment at the hospital after Heidi was referred by her GP.

Talking to The Sun, a source said: ''The front of the car is smashed in. They could all have been seriously injured. It was traumatic.''

Thankfully, no one was injured and they were all checked over in A&E as a precaution. However, the source added that Kerry, who has been through a lot in recent years, feels like she is cursed, saying: “Kerry is distraught and feels cursed. Every time her life appears to be running smoothly, something like this happens.''

Heidi was kept in overnight with an unrelated illness and Kerry, her husband George and Mark Croft, Kerry’s ex were by her bedside. Kerry’s mum, Sue, came up from Warrington to mind the rest of the family.

Wishing Heidi a speeding recovery.
