Carrick on Shannon is a lively town with a population of around 2,500. It is the largest cruising centre in Ireland. Historically, it has been one of the main crossing points on the beautiful Shannon River. Base Opening Hours Monday - Thursday 09:00 - 18:00 Friday - Saturday 09:00 - 20:00 Sunday - 10:00 - 13:00 A fishing license is required - this can be purchased at the base for €7. It is suggested that you bring your own fishing equipment as it is not possible to hire from the base.
