After playing down rumours that she was expecting a son with husband Kanye West, Kim Kardashian finally confirmed on Father’s Day that she is, in fact, due to have a baby boy.

Amid previous reports regarding Kim’s fertility struggles, with sources claiming that the Wests had turned to IVF for their second child, a fresh report claims that the couple chose the gender of their unborn child.

A source has told Us Weekly that Kim and Kanye used IVF gender-selection to ensure that they got pregnant with a baby boy; a brother for their two-year-old daughter, North.

"She only had boy embryos implanted,” revealed the source, just days after the 34-year-old mother-of-one made the big announcement.

Another source told the publication: “Kanye and Kim are so excited to complete their family. Kanye loves Nori more than anything, but to make his world complete, he wanted a little boy, an heir…Kim would have happily taken a healthy baby, but being able to choose the sex is the cherry on top.”

Kim and Kanye announced last month that they are expecting their second child together, with baby number two due in December.
