One glance at her social media posts is enough to reveal how much of a doting mum Kim Kardashian is to daughter North.

However, the reality star has revealed that there are certain routines she has implemented in her home to make sure her one-year-old is relatively ‘independent’.

Opening up during a recent interview with Elle magazine, the 34-year-old mother-of-one admitted that she has insisted little North sleeps in her own room, so as to maintain a healthy relationship with her husband, Kanye West.

“I think I really made that a priority. I was really strict about my daughter sleeping in her own room, and now she’s really independent and likes it that way,” said Kim.

She added: “That has allowed us to have our time together…I made it a priority that I knew as soon as the doctor said I was able to work out, I was going to focus and commit myself and really work out, and feel good about myself.”

Admitting that she can completely identify with wanting to spend all your time with your little one, Kim added that allotting a small amount of time to just yourself every day is important.

“It worked for me to be able to get my workout in, make me feel good about myself, put my daughter down to bed at a decent time, and have the night with my husband,” she said.

Kim and Kanye have been very vocal about trying for a second baby, with recent footage from Keeping Up With the Kardashians giving an insight into their fertility struggles.
