In the world of celebrity, unusual baby names are nothing new, and we weren’t exactly surprised to hear that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick had chosen a rather unique moniker for their third child, Reign Aston.

Anyone thinking this name was chosen on a whim, however, is very much mistaken, as Kourtney revealed during an interview this week.

Opening up on why she and long-term partner Scott opted for the name, the 36-year-old reality star told People magazine: “I actually had the name on our list with Mason. Then with Penelope, I had it on the list but spelled R-A-I-N. Once I found out I was having a boy, we just changed the spelling again.”

“I’m never certain [with names] until they’re born,” she said, adding, “I love it!”

Kourtney was speaking just after the launch of the Kardashian sisters’ baby clothing line, which is now selling at US retailer Nordstrom.

In a family where image and fashion are so important, it sounds as though this has rubbed off on Kourtney’s little ones already.

“Mason is very picky with what he wears. I think it’s fun to let him have that expression. He’s all about comfort,” said Kourtney, adding that Penelope is very much a “girly girl”.

As for little Reign, he may only be four months old, but already he’s enjoying the benefits of having stylish siblings, with Kourtney admitting: “He has an amazing wardrobe.”

We can well believe it.
