She recently admitted that she is trying to teach her daughters to be charitable, and by the sounds of it, Kristen Bell is doing a stand-up job.

The actress, who is mum to three-year-old Lincoln and two-year-old Delta, has let us in on her genius ‘one in, one out’ rule.

In an interview with Parenting magazine, which she has guest edited for the month of November, the Bad Moms actress revealed how the rule works, and how it is teaching her daughters to appreciate what they have.

“A mom said her daughter had a toy giraffe at home, and since she was learning the concept of giving, she’d like to give it to my daughter. We exchanged addresses, and the following week we got this little stuffed giraffe in the mail,” she explained.

Kristen went on to adopt the wonderful idea herself, adding: “Now, we have a ‘one in, one out’ rule. If we bring home a new puzzle, my toddler had to give an old one away, and she’s pretty good at this, despite how young she is.”

In a world where our children are exposed to so many marketing ploys and adverts, where gifts are lavished upon them at every celebration; we think this is a great idea.
