Kym Marsh shares the alternative name her grandchild will call her

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is set to become a grandmother this year, but the actress doesn’t want to be addressed as ‘granny’ or ‘nanny’ like most grandmothers are.

The soap star confirmed that her 21-year-old daughter was expecting her first child in November. She admitted that she was incredibly surprised by her daughter Emilie’s news but couldn’t wait for her grandchild to arrive in 2019.

Despite her excitement, Kym admitted that she doesn’t want to be referred to as ‘granny’ so they looked for an alternative name.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, the actress, who plays Michelle Connor, said: “I’m really excited about being a grandparent, but I was like, there’s no way I’m being a grandma or granny or nanny or any of those things.”

She continued: “So, we looked on a website and found alternative names and I’m going to be ‘Lolly’.”

How cute is Lolly as an alternative name? We absolutely adore it.

Kym recently revealed that her daughter Emilie is expecting a baby boy. She posted a gender reveal video on her Instagram account to share the special news.

Speaking of the baby’s looming arrival, Kym told OK! Magazine: “We’re over the moon. It makes me feel so emotional that my baby is having a baby of her own.''

We are so excited for Kym to become a grandmother or should we say ‘Lolly.’ We’re sure she is counting down the days to her grandchild’s due date.
