Thank you for allowing us to test out the La Roche Posay range – I am familiar with the brand name, but haven’t tried much of it to be honest. I wasn’t aware it was suitable for newborns, until I saw it on the mummypages.
My son is just gone three months and he has very dry skin patches, so we’re working on trying to clear that. The local health nurse said to leave it and not to bath too often but it was getting rose. I found using Cicaplast B5 balm has made a difference, there is an improvement already, after just a week and he has been scratching a lot less. We’re using it daily, sometimes twice, on the affected areas and it has a really soothing effect, it absorbs well and you only need a little bit each time.
We do baths every second or third day and I’ve found adding the Syndet Cream Wash is a great addition to just plain water as we never use anything perfumed and it’s brilliant to know that these products are fragrance free.
I was really impressed with these products and will absolutely be buying again. I will also have no hesitation in recommending to others too

I’m a new mum and really only finding my feet now with my baby. Since he was 3 months he has had constant chest infections and eczema. The doctor has said that this isn’t uncommon in babies where the mum or dad have a history of the same issues. The doctors focus has been on the chest infection and worrying about the issue of suspected asthma with less focus on the eczema. Add to that, when he has a chest infection, his nappies are awful – cue terrible nappy rash. The only advice for his eczema was to get a pot of ointment from the pharmacy and to use it 4 times a day and the advice for his nappy, was to leave it off as much as possible! As I work outside of the home, this was very hard to manage so when I saw the chance to try something different, I put my hand up. I’m a school teacher so took a very methodical approach to doing this trial. We committed to the routine as follows: each day we bathed the baby using the Syndet AP Wash. Afterwards, we carefully used the Lipikar Balm instead of baby oil for his nightly baby massage. This meant we didn’t compromise on what helps him sleep but it also meant we were looking after his skin in a more considered manner. He tends to get dry irritated patches in the folds of his neck, wrists and behind his knees (he’s a little chubby there in a delightful baby way) – for these areas, we did the same as above, but use the Cicaplast Baume B5 balm to give the areas some extra TLC. We committed to four weeks of the routine to really give it a chance but we didn’t need that amount of time to see a huge improvement. He slept better each night and his skin was less raw and itchy. He was in better form too. I’m happily surprised with how effective this was and only wish that I had found it sooner. If you are struggling with a child that has dry, itchy or eczema prone skin, then La Roche Posay is for you – I now wouldn’t consider living without these products nor could I. Highly recommended.

I knew La Roche Posay had a great reputation and I have used their products in the past but I had never used them on my child. I found the cream easy to apply and it was quickly absorbed. It is a convenient size and the packaging is what you would expect from an expert brand that is only available through a pharmacy.

During this cold weather, I find my daughter’s eczema tends to flare up, and when she gets nappy rash, it’s always a bad case, so I was delighted to have Cicaplast Baume B5 to use, and found it really fantastic on both in terms of soothing it and helping to prevent big flare ups.

I found the Syndet AP+ a lovely addition to my daughter’s bath time, it’s fragrance-free and is a very gentle wash which is perfect for her delicate skin.

I take a lot of comfort from the fact that the range from La Roche Posay comes recommend by Dermatologists worldwide, and states clearly that it is suitable for newborns (although my daughter is six months now, I’m still very cautious about what I use). I would only want to use the safest products for her. Also, the fact that it offers immediate soothing, anti scratching and anti dry skin flare-ups means it ticks all of my requirement list right now.

I’ve noticed a difference after only a matter of days, there’s much less itching and general discomfort, and the nappy rash has reduced significantly.

My husband also suffers from very dry skin on his elbows and ankles, so he was using it too, with similar positive results.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this product for any type of dry skin condition and I will continue to use it.

Mostly I applied Cicaplast B5 balm cream to my daughter’s (she’s just turned two) skin after pool or bath. She is like a little mermaid - she loves water. We have bath every night. And now that the pools are back open, we’re going at least once a week (sometimes twice).

Recently, my daughter has developed few little dry skin patches on her tummy area and the back of her legs, so we’re using the Cicaplast B5 balm on those two areas – which is working a treat.

The Cicaplast B5 balm is smooth and very easy to apply. It has no smell and it absorbs quickly. After applying it, her skin was left soft and silky.

The tube is the perfect size, as I can bring it with us to the pool.

For the bath time routine we are using the Syndet AP+ cleanser, followed by Lipikar Balm AP+M and I’m so impressed with both. They are very gentle, but so effective - when used together, they are a winning team.

I can confirm that La Roche Posay just got a new customer. I will be using these three from now on and I’m interested in trying others from the La Roche Posay range as a result of this trial.”

Thank you very much for selecting us for this test. I was thrilled to be selected. I've always suffered from eczema and now my poor kids are too.

As soon as winter arrives, it always appears like clockwork but it’s present in the summer too. The heat makes it worse in Summer and cold seems to bring it on in winter too or if the kids have a bug/virus it is their Achilles heel.

I have tried lots of products on myself over time and also tried many with the children too but there’s not a huge amount out there that makes a long-lasting difference. Yes I can treat their bad spots (and mine) with a steroid cream but I don’t like relying on that for something that should be managed more easily. I asked my GP what to use and they recommended the steroid cream when needed along with emulsifying ointment. I don’t like using it because it’s really messy and is a pain to apply on the kids and it ruins the bed clothes.

We followed the suggested programme of care carefully – I used the Syndet AP cream wash in the bath and then applied the Lipikar Balm AP+M.

We all started using the Lipikar Balm AP+M cream as soon as it arrived and what I liked about it most was that you don't have to use a lot to cover a good area. Unlike lots of other creams, it isn't greasy and there's that nice non-scent scent - I don’t like using perfumed creams, especially when using it for eczema.

After just a few days we all noticed a difference, even with my daughter who always gets it a bit worse than the rest of us. After daily use, morning and night, we were able to reduce it to just PM use, which is brilliant and it’s all being kept under control.

There are always a few stubborn spots that I use a steroid cream for – during this trial, I swapped that out to use the Cicaplast B5 balm instead and it worked like a dream on any stubborn areas.

I have already recommended to my sisters, who have eczema prone skin and would recommend to others in the same situation. It works so well. Thanks again
