Fans had been eagerly anticipating the first proper glimpse at American singer and The Voice judge Christina Aguilera’s daughter, but her first official photos have left some people rather bemused.
People magazine had the pleasure of an exclusive photo shoot with Christina and her six-month-old daughter, Summer Rain, but the publication has come in for major criticism after the tot appeared to be photoshopped in the cover shot.
While the spread features some beautiful natural shots of Christina’s second child, her first with fiancé Matt Rutler, a number of people have pointed out the child’s doll-like features on the front cover.
One Twitter user blasted the magazine for the move, writing: “Why did they photoshop her baby to high hell? I’m screaming. It looks like a cartoon baby’s head shopped onto a real baby.”
Meanwhile, another observed: “Christina Aguilera’s baby was photoshopped on the cover of People…is it really necessary to photoshop a baby?”
A number of publications have also called out the magazine for the move, with Cosmo UK tweeting: “Rather than disturb Summer Rain, who was having a nap at the time, Christina posed with a series of Cabbage Patch dolls instead.”
