Mel B has been granted a restraining order against her husband Stephen Belafonte, amid claims he subjected her to domestic abuse, according to TMZ.
Among the shocking allegations, Mel claims Stephen was violent towards her and choked her, slammed her into the floor, and punched her.
It’s also alleged that Stephen coerced her into having threesomes with other women, threatened to release sex tapes of her, and got their nanny pregnant.
Stephen has been ordered by a judge to leave the family home in the Hollywood Hills.
Mel filed for divorce recently after 10 years of marriage.
Fears were raised for Mel’s safety after she appeared on The X Factor with bruises on her face and arms, several years ago.
At the time, both Mel and Stephen denied any accusations of domestic violence, but now it’s emerged they may have been the result of an altercation between the singer and her husband.
Mel’s family claims they had concerns about her relationship at the time but she refused to listen to them.
In the court documents, Mel claims that the abuse was a result of Stephen’s jealousy about her career and her interactions with other men.
When she became successful, she says Stephen “would beat me down to let me know he was in charge”.
She also alleges Stephen “punched her and split her lip” after becoming jealous while she filmed a segment with Usher for The X Factor, back in 2012. He allegedly accused Mel of flirting with Usher during the segment.
The documents also claim that Stephen flew into a jealous rage after Mel’s triumphant performance with The Spice Girls at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
It’s reported that he punched her with a closed fist and pushed her down on the carpet, which caused carpet burns and scabs on her face.
Before her appearance on the finale of Dancing with the Stars, he allegedly attacked her, pushing her down on the floor and choking her. He then forced her to tweet that she injured herself while running in seven-inch Louboutin heels.
What’s even more disturbing are the allegations that Stephen got their nanny pregnant and suggested that they all live together and raise the baby.
Ultimately Mel claims Stephen ultimately demanded the nanny get an abortion and paid her off with $300,000 of Mel’s money.
She also claims Stephen forced her to "participate in sexual intercourse with him and random women" and he would often secretly record these threesomes.
Mel says she was afraid to leave Stephen as he threatened her, claiming he would take her children and ruin her career by releasing sex tapes of her.
